nvyblue03 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Ill be on vacation from texas at table rock lake around Kimberling city june 19th-25th can anyone recommend a guide for that area? Thanks Quote
Abuss55 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Glad to hear you are coming to my neck of the woods! I would highly reccomend using John Sappington, who you may also know as one of the FLW cup winners. He is a great guide and did a very job guiding for my mom and I on mothers day. You can check him out at www.fishingguidebranson.com. Good luck and happy fishing! Give someone a fish and they will eat for a day, teach them how to fish and they will sit in a boat all day and drink beer. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 12, 2015 Global Moderator Posted June 12, 2015 Bill Babler or Bill Beck have forgotten more about Table Rock bass than most others will ever know. Quote
cbass12 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Pete Wenners is a good one also. He took us out the first morning of our vacation a few years ago and taught us a lot about the lake, helped us catch a lot of fish throughout the week. Quote
nvyblue03 Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 Thanks guys..why are most guides catch and release? I want to keep fish for a fish fry. Quote

They depend on those fish to make a living. If every angler kept their 5 and they fish 5 days a week, 100 bass a month taken out, 1,200 a year. Multiply that times several dozen guides. If you go to Table Rock and want fish for a fish fry, get a trout permit and some Powerbait and go down to Taneycomo and catch a bunch of trout. 2 Quote

Or go deep and get some of the big bluegills that everybody talks about, those are right up there with crappie and walleye as far as good eating fish. Quote
FlippinFred21 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Eric Prey www.FocusedFishing.com is a great guy and a better fisherman Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted June 17, 2015 Super User Posted June 17, 2015 If you want to eat the fish then tell the guide up front what you want. If he doesn't want to do that then find someone else. Also, Jerry Snider has a bait shop in Kimberling City and is a guide. Quote
