Just picked up a 7 ft Medium Duckett Ghost yesterday. Gonna be used as my main Drop Shot/ Shakey Head setup. Looking for a reel to throw on it. Kinda thinking between the Lew's Laser G2 Speed Spin Spinning Reel High Speed or a Pflueger Trion. Kinda on a tight budget so the father under $70, the better.

The Pflueger Presidet is $60 when not on sale and would be my first choice.  I've read nothing about the Lews reel.  I have about the Trion, and most reviewers appear to rate it as a great reel for the money.

I have a trion and and a lews g2. The lews is very smooth and for the money i thinks its a very good reel.. think i paid 50 bucks at wally world but can be had cheaper on ebay and amazon among other sites and it comes with a extra spool for using braid. I like both reels alot and would recommend either one, i like the red and black colors on the lews, it matches the rod i built perfectly...

Symetre on sale or used. Never fished a Pflueger, tried one Lews, CF300, decent reel but the reel foot is thick I guess it wouldn't fit on the 2 rods I wanted to try it on.

x2 on the reel foot, i do have one rod it wont fit in the seat unless i wanted to file it down just a tad wich the thought of doing so makes me cringe...ha ha ha

Still haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet. Still deciding. Not a big fan of the Pflueger President. Not really concinvinced that I have to drop a ton of money on a reel either. I'm not a professional or an every single day fisherman. Kinda glanced at the Okuma Stratus V at Dicks. Good looking reel and definitely on my radar.

To be honest any Shimano reel from the Sienna model and up in the 1000 or 2500 size should work just fine.  Cabela's has the Solstace on sale for $30.  I use every model of Shimano spinners from Siennas up to Stradics and they all get the job done.

Daiwa Exceller is worth looking at if you don't like the President ... The Okuma Stratus V in a 25 series could very well be a sleeper reel - sure would look nice on that new rod you just bought !

Pflueger President 6930 or 6925. Pair it with a Veritas 6'9" ML rod and you have a fantastic combo.

Lots of good spinning reels in the 50-70 range, you really can't go wrong with any of the big brands. I have 2 pfluger presidents and never plan on buying a more expensive spinning reel, they do everything perfectly. Casting reels on the other hand...you can never spend to much on a good baitcaster!
