Where Would You Target

Found an area on a lake where a big creek empties into the main river/lake and I believe it's where I'd like to focus my fishing. The lake is very low in the winter and you can see on google earth where the creek runs. I have the pic at low pool, normal pool, and the navionics chart of it. My main question is where would you try first to look for fish? Thanks guys

Creek mouth.

Up into the creek, both sides.

Two coves to the right.

All around the islands especially the drop off areas.

Back bay area.

 

Keep fishing the area and keep a log for every day you fish.

 

You will soon find their patterns and where the baitfish like to hold.

Add to this anywhere the creek/river swings in close to land.

This time of year (post-spawn summertime). Water temp should be mid 70's.

Current pool level should be similar to the second picture which corresponds to the navionics contour lines

Your lake is down about 6' so that is the new shoreline. If venture into water less than 2' it's more than likely too shallow. So look at the original full pool 10' to 15' depths or deeper and target those areas, basically fishing a river/creek channel during the summer period.

If the lake is a full pool, I still fish the same areas, wherever the break drops away at the 6' depth zone and where steep channel break meet a more sloping bank, several near points. The most obviuos being the point between the 2 coves at the channel swing.

Right where the bend in the creek channel slams into that point, just north of it, on the left, where the channel has a steep deeper edge, and between the two islands where the secondary channel meets the main channel.
