What model of Plano box do I need to store large baits like spinners and buzzbaits? I would really like it if I could find one that was in the 3700 size. Right now I'm using a couple 3700 thins (pictured below) to hold all my other tackle but the spinners and buzzbaits obviously won't fit because of the pre-molded horizontal rows. I carry my tackle in an old backpack so using those super deep rack-style spinner boxes isn't very practical for me.

Plano makes a box just for spinner baits and buzz baits. They also make one that is a combo box for spinner baits and buzz baits and it is in the 3700 size.

Flambeau makes a small spinner bait box - model 0220 that will hold 4 to 6 spinnerbaits.  I have several.  They work great for spinnerbaits.  They don't work for buzz baits.  Unless you find the, totally necessary because of cover issues, I'd leave the buzz baits at home.  Walking a Pop-R or similar bait very fast makes a similar noise on the water, you can stop it and it won't sink, and you've got a couple of treble hooks to catch a fish rather than 1 fixed hook.

Anyway, my opinion, I like poppers over a buzz bait the vast majority of the time.

But I digress.  No clue where you'd get those boxes in your neighborhood, call Flambeau and find out I guess.  I got mind at a family owned independent tackle store in the KC Metro area.

THe big plano box for spinners and buzzbaits sits up right. it is great for a boat, but it takes up a bunch of room in a tackle box. I use a cd case for my spinners, and a trays for my buzzbaits. works well

I have this box and yes it took me a few tries to figure out how to get them in correctly.  I've had it for 6+ months and they hold the baits really well.  Every now and then a buzzbait will pop out but the spinnerbaits stay tight.  Haven't seen a problem with the wire being bent either.

I have the plano 3650 tackle bag from Sportsman's warehouse. It comes with boxes that are adjustable. I have several buzzbaits in my box. You can adjust the sizes of the compartments to what suits you.

Hope this helps and good luck fellow Kentuckian.

Can.t say about the buzzbaits but I own two 3700,s and one 3600,s and they work. Only problem was with a local produced spinner bait . Wire to stiff? Holds all my others great . Had the first about four years now. Maybe not perfect but what is? Very satisfied.

Not sure if they still make them, but I love my Plano 3714 spinnerbait boxes. They don't work real well for spinnerbaits 3/4oz and up though.
