Super User HoosierHawgs Posted June 8, 2015 Super User Posted June 8, 2015 What line do you use for bladed jigs? Just curious, I'm not very knowledgeable on bladed jigs. Quote
Megastink Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Always used fluoro, but for $$ sake, I use 15lb yo zuri hybrid. Quote
Jon G Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 I usually use 16lb FC Sniper. 12lb Pline CXX works well too I just prefer Fluorocarbon. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted June 8, 2015 Global Moderator Posted June 8, 2015 15# Invisex now, soon to be 14# Sniper Mike Quote
Super User HoosierHawgs Posted June 9, 2015 Author Super User Posted June 9, 2015 I'm just confused because the Chatterbait package says "For better action, use braid". When fishing one on braid, would you go straight braid ir leader? Quote
Mr Swim Jig Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I fish them with 12lbs copolymer line and the wife fishes them with 30lbs braid and depending on the clarity of the water will use a 10lbs copolymer leader. Quote
aprilbass101 Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 12 # Sunline FC Sniper....Personnel preference! No issues so far Quote
War Eagle 44 Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I also go with 50# braid. The waters I fish are never crystal clear so I really don't worry about the fish seeing the line. I've also used 15# CXX in the past and it's great as well. Another reason I never worry about using straight braid is because I'm always fishing my jigs in or very close to grass. Ideally I want it to make contact with some form of cover at least half of the entire retrieve. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted June 9, 2015 Super User Posted June 9, 2015 I use braid as I usually throw them in grass or other cover where the braid comes in handy. Quote
DTack Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I'm just confused because the Chatterbait package says "For better action, use braid". When fishing one on braid, would you go straight braid ir leader? I'm going to re-write that for them and say "to feel the action of your chatterbait better, use braid". I use two types of line... for light grass and just about any cover I go between 16lb-20lb sniper. For heavy grass I use 70lb braid (daiwa samurai). If I'm concerned about visibility of line I will put on a leader of 15-20lb fluoro. The other option I will go with if I'm kind of being lazy is just 15 lb mono. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 10, 2015 Global Moderator Posted June 10, 2015 15lb Big Game for me. Quote
riverbasser13 Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I fish the micro size on #8 yo zuri hybrid, I'm also fishing it in pretty open water targeting grass that's 8-10 feet underwater. Quote
