If you use a swivel snap the line could possibly be slipping through the split ring and popping off. That wouldn't happen with just a snap. Crazy glue also helps on braid knots.

Before there was a Palomar knot or a Uni knot there was a braid knot. The original braid knot I learned to tie back in the 50’s was simply a double line clinch knot. This knot is tied using a double line like you use tying a Palomar knot. Same as the clinch knot except you wrap the looped end line 5 times and put the tag end loop back through opening next to the hook, and clinch tight. You end up with 3 ends when you cut off tag ends. The braid never slips leaving  1/16-1/8” cut ends.

PS, look at “double clinch” knot Utube video.

I use that knot on occasion. Super strong. Seems to work well with all forms of line. Only disadvantage I've found is that with higher lb test the knot becomes bulky.
