Anyone use this stuff? I bought a spool and could not for the life of me wrap with this stuff. The beginning wraps kept slipping and when I finally got it to work I had gap city. Switched to some fish hawk and it was night and day. The blank was unfinished if that makes a difference. It seems like good stuff but I can't work with it. Any pointers?

I've wrapped one rod and a few repairs with it. I really liked it, just wish it was availabvle in more colors. That's what Lumberjack Barbie was wrapped with. No gaps, and it would be very visible with it being black over pink.

Just got a spool of neon orange ProWrap NCP. HATE IT. I was gonna wrap that surf rod with it to match the grip. Scrapped that idea for charcoal and will use the neon for the trim bands.

You are right, it does seem harder to get wrap started. And it surely is smaller than other A size thread. But I like it. It wraps nice, burnishes really nice, accepts finish readily and has fewer fuzzies than any other I've used.

Take that all with a grain of salt. I'm new at this game, so my opinion ain't worth a whole heck of a lot.

I had the same issues with the Fuji thread. I've also tried Fish Hawk. I'll never buy those two again after trying ProWrap. Just my opinion. Everyone is different I suppose. It just seems to wrap better for me than the two previously mentioned. Also, it has an awesome color selection. The metallic kinda springs off the spool if you're not careful though, which is the only downside I've found. Since Gudebrod has gone away, I'm pretty sure a lot of manufacturers have gone to ProWrap if that means anything.

If this was your first experience with the Fuji I suggest trying it again on a different blank.  I used the Fuji on an AmTac Bushido blank and had no more trouble getting started than I usually do.  I just finished a MHX using Pro Wrap NCP and thought it was more trouble getting started than usual.  Possibly it's more about the blank than the thread?  coefficient of friction of the blank?

My first use of the Fuji was positive.  I like Pro Wrap OK exc for the old metallics which are very hard to keep from springing off the spool. I expect the new stuff was designed to fix that.

The MHX blank was one of the white ones.

I bought a spool of metallic about three weeks ago, and it still sprung off the spool.

The new premium metallic? Pro FX?  They are still selling the old as well as the new premium (at a premium price + $1.00).  If the new still springs off I don't know why it's premium.  That was the only problem with the old, IMO.

Yeah, it was the regular metallic. My mistake. I'll have to try the ProFX. Not sure why they are deviating from the old colors though.
