nestor Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 (edited) Yay, I just received another shipment of tackle w/o my wife seeing the delivery... However, the most significant item of this order wasn't correct. As I began pulling what I thought was a 7" Quantum KVD medium/heavy rod out of the 8" cardboard shipping tube, I realized I got more than I expected - 7"10' rod. The 7" rod was intended for casting light plastics, drop shots and flipping into heavy cover - versatile. Question - Is there a use for a 7"10' bait caster rod besides casting? Quantum KVD - Medium Heavy; Line 12 - 25lbs; Lure 3/8 to 1oz. Edited June 5, 2015 by nestor Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 5, 2015 Global Moderator Posted June 5, 2015 What are the specs on the rod? I can think of a few different uses on a rod that length depending on what it's rated for. 1 Quote

nestor Posted June 5, 2015 Author Posted June 5, 2015 Thank you all for the replies... I just got back from a local pond to take the "tomato stake" for a spin. It totally makes sense that what I have is a deep cranking rod ... I can see the extra foot being great for leverage to get a few feet deeper for those who can support an arsenal of a dozen+ poles. Unfortunately, I'm not that guy and will be returning the pole for a more versatile length. Thanks again for your replies! Quote
