Just bought a Megabass Pop Max and I love the action. Problem is that I have only fished it twice and the paint is already chipping off in quite a few areas. Has anybody else had this problem? For the price I wouldn't think that this would happen.

It does eventuslly chip off in places..I guess the pace of wear would be dictated by how many fish you've caught and what kinds. I have some stripped of all paint. They still work great.

Different paints wear differently and MB is no exception. Not to worry though, it's the action that catches he fish :)

You might check out the River2Sea Bubble Walker. Very similar body style and action but half the price and the paint is more durable.

Just keep fishing it, you won't mind what it looks like when it keeps catching fish :).  My best 110's are ones that I call 'broken in'... Some chipped paint, tooth scratches, and a little hook rash but they catch fish like crazy.  On a topwater it probably doesn't really matter anyway, most of the time the silhouette and action are more important than the paint job IMO.

Baitfish are never as perfect-looking as lure paint jobs, so I never really worry about scratches or chipping.

In some brands like Megabass and Lucky Craft the clear coat is very thin and it chips away easily.

Thanks for the replies. I guess it doesn't matter because the fish can't seem to keep it out of their mouths.
