I can't decide between the Bass Pro Pro Qualifier and the Revo SX.

I can get 4 Pro Qualifiers for the Price of 3 Revos using the 6 pay plan at Bass Pro.

Any input is appreciated. Even recommendations on reels under 150.00

Thanx Tim

You said other recommendations so I would go to eBay and have a little patience and buy 3 or 4 new Curado's for under $130.00 apiece.

I own a Revo SX which is 5-6 yrs old and like it very much.  Solid reel, zero problems so far.  I recently got a Daiwa Tatula, which retails for around $150 and really like its easy casting performance and very effective backlash control (magnetic).  Honestly, brand loyalty aside (I'm mostly a Shimano guy) there are many good reels in the $100-150 range and I think you can pick based on the features you want and have confidence that the engineering and quality control is decent across the major brands.

The PQ seems to have a loyal following.  Don't own one because I've always been a little leery of the BPS "contract factory of the year" way of doing business.  Maybe I'm just ignorant but that's the way I feel.

It all depends on if you want quantity or quality. I haven't used one but i have heard great things about the pro qualifier but that is if u can get it when they put it on sale for sub $80. As far as quality, there are many workhorse reels in that range, my vote would go to a curado, or lews. I think I would personally take a lews lfs over the revo sx or the pro qualifier. Great low profile reel for $100

Curado I on eBay or anywhere else you can find it new for cheap. It bombs lures and is super reliable. I love it.

The PQ on sale is arguably the best bang for the buck reel out there. The SX will be lighter by a little but feature wise I prefer the PQ. At the PQ retail rate of $129, a Curado or Tatula on sale would be my pick.  The quality vs quantity argument doesn't hold water. The factory & tooling are the same the SX and PQ.

I'd go for the PQ or maybe the Curado if you are looking for another reel. Like DVT said, the PQ is probably the best bang for your buck. I've had a couple in past years, and while I've upgraded to much more expensive reels, I would not be upset with using a PQ by any means.

In my opinion...for the price.. you can't beat the Pflueger President. $60

The PQ is a fantastic, foolproof reel, and I have four of them. The Curado is better though, I have an E and an I and love both.

I'd rather have a Revo SX over a BPS Pro Qualifier.  Pro Qs are great but they are showing their age.  Just sticking to $100 give or take $30 I'd rater have a Curado I, Tatula, Carbon lite, or save a few bucks a clearance priced Nitro Tournament Z if if I could get my hands on the good one.

He already made his choice and bought the pq.  OP good choice.  The pq's will serve you well as they were a great reel for me as well.
