Any of you guys fish the Jacksonville FMA's or state managed ponds? Oceanway pond, Bethesda pond, Pope Duval ponds, Hannah Park.....?

I hit Bethesda FMA May 2 and landed an 8#er. She was my PB.

So what you Jax bassers doing around these ponds?

Honestly, I'm new to the area and never heard of any of these, so thanks for posting. They're all about an hour from my house as I live further south, but I'm going to take two of my kids to St. Augustine Rd. FMA this afternoon.

Try aroung where they have a lot of lilly pads which is close to the "fish attractor". They have nice catfish if you fish a rig on bottom for the kids ;) , and try frogs+jigs but most of all pick up green pumpkin senkos and fish it wackey or weightless/small weight texas rigged ;) But fish around the lily pads, trust me theirs big bass their!

I have fished:

-St. Augustine: from shore, didn't get a bite back in earl June, but a few guys in a jon boat did all right.

- Baymeadows: bites from shore are hard to come by. I like to put my kayak in and hit the back grass line (close to 95) with a jig. My average bass ~ 2lbs, big bass 2.75lbs. A guy I talked to said he caught a 5lb-er FWIW.

- Hannah Park: in kayak, throwing chatterbaits and diving crank baits near the reeds and the island has caught most between 2 and 3 lbs.

I really want to get out to Pope Duval soon.
