What can yall tell me about the Powell inferno? Also how do they stack up with the *** blacks? Thanks!!

One of the lightest rods. Fished it side by side with my dobyns champion, both MH and the inferno was lighter in weight.

I have not owned an Inferno but I've owned Max and Diesel series Powell's and I even like my Diesels better than the ***'s. People build the *** up to be such an amazing rod but I didn't find it to be so spectacular for me...to each his own. Powell makes awesome rods and I would put them up against anyone including Loomis and Dobyns. *** doesn't even make it into that category in my opinion. Get an Inferno , Max , or Endurance and I think you'll be quite pleased. Or wait for the new *** with the full grip. It could be a great rod for lesser money than you'll pay for a Powell if saving money is your ultimate goal. I'm not bashing ***'s so I please don't get your blood pressure up if you're an *** fanatic. Simply my opinion, doesn't make it right or wrong...I just fish with what I like..right now it's Powell and Loomis.

I owned 2 infernos, they were really nice rods. Only thing I didn't like was the xf tip, if they made them with a fast tip I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again.

I haven't fished an Inferno either but I am a huge Powell fan. I've been fishing their max series since they introduced them. Still fishing them today, never had a single problem from any of my 5. Just added my first Max 3D recently and I couldn't be happier. Absolutely fantastic rods, IMHO of course. I've played around with the Inferno in the shop and they feel pretty good. In my opinion you won't be disappointed at all with a Powell rod. Go ahead and bite the bullet and get yourself one!
