hatrix Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 i fish them off deep drops and depths of 20-35 feet , so even after a 60 yard cast , in deep water your still not too horizontal with the bait , causing the bait not to dig . i fish a variety of ROF soft trout baits , but have the best fish hit when fishing deep and super slow . if i were to fish 5-8 ft. of water i'd throw the Savage Gear Shallow runner3D trout in trout and hitch patterns , those baits work !! Well there isn't tons of deep water where I live. There are some pockets at places that can get 20-30 feet. It's not a huge area to cover though and we don't even really have super giant lakes like other places. There is a lot of 30' deep out on Erie but I don't out to the middle of the lake and throw hudds It's actually the shallowest of the Great Lakes as it is. Quote
