Shane_ Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 I just got an aluminum boat, this is my first boat so ive never delt with any of these things before. First question, I have a 55 thrust trolling motor, hooked up to a cabelas deep cycle battery ( I believe its 90ah) is that going to be enough or do i need a better battery, the trolling motor does not feel very strong when I take it out. Second, I have the humminbird "fishing buddy 110", I just dug up a 160 screen, would I be able to connect the 160 screen to the fishing buddy if I take the 110 off? What are the differences between the 110 vs 160? Thank you very much any help is appreciated Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted June 1, 2015 Super User Posted June 1, 2015 No you cannot connect the 160 display to the Fishin Buddy. The Fishin Buddy is a self contained sonar unit with display and transducer together. The 160 display is separate from a transducer and they mount in two different places. The trolling motor has the same thrust regardless of the battery size connected to it. Is the battery fully charged???? That will determine if you have full power available. Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 And if the battery and trolling motor are far apart (bow and stern) make sure you run heavy enough gauge wire. Quote
