My main fishing kayak is s Wilderness Systems Ride 115 with the basic low seat.  I have to say the seat is very very comfortable.  It must be one of the best seats in all of kayaking.

Anyway, whenever I look at other kayaks I always look at Ocean Kayaks because they kind of look nice to me.  But there is one thing I don't like - the seats.  They looks sort of cheap and don't look

comfortable.  Iv'e never paddled an Ocean Kayak though so I don't really know.  I only know the shape of the Ocean Kayaks look nice but the seats look cheap.

So if any of you have an Ocean Kayak sit on top - how is the seat?  How comfortable is it?

Thanks!

My only experience with an OK was at a summer camp as a life guard and boat guide. Keep in mind, these kayaks are the bottom models. The kayak did not come with a seat. The seat width was not good. I felt like my cheeks were hanging out. It was a tight fit. LOL

I'm good friends with the OK (technically Johnson Outdoors) pro staffers in the area, and they all swear by the Surf-to-Summit OK seats.  These guys are hard core anglers and paddlers that will put in 15-20 miles in a day seeking out big fish in the salt, so I trust their opinion.  If you want specifics, just call Appomattox River Company in Hampton, VA (1-757-890-0500) on Thu-Sat and ask for Kayak Kevin Whitley (tell him Chuck sent you - the Hobie guy ;) ).

I fish out of a OK nearly every day and only get uncomfortable after 6 hours or so, and my height (6'2) might be the reason for that. Also I own the Tetra series with the black foam seat. Not sure what the name of the seat is.
