Has anyone taken a DT6 crankbait blank and used a DT10 bill?  I was wondering how this would work.  I don't have any experience in crankbait building just jig making but I love a DT6.  Sometimes I just need it to get down a hair deeper but don't want the profile of the bigger DT10.  Any ideas if I could get one down deeper this way or maybe just trying to thin the bill on a DT6.  Im not really a fan of adding weight to it so im looking for some other options.

I agree, awesome crankbait, and if you want to get it a hair deeper, try using 8lb fluorocarbon line, you may get 6" to a foot more depth by doing that. You could also do what I do, and that is go to the DT-Flat 7, it has a tighter action than the 6 but the 6 is tight without being flat so action wise they are similar. I'll be honest, the DT- Flat 3 and 7 have been really work horse cranks, they not only are good in cold water but even in the summer when the fish aren't chasing cranks very much, throw a DT-Flat 7 around wood in 4' to 7' of water, they work like a deep running square bill but the tighter action and high vibration draw strikes from fish that normally won't come out for a crank. Sorry for rambling, but instead of going through the trouble of getting a 6 to run a little deeper, just use the flat, like I said, it has a similar action and it comes in all the colors.

There is a custom mold maker who has done this. If you search ebay, you should be able to find them. They're called Predator baits. They make a DT10 that has a DT16 bill on it. So essentially, you have a DT10 that will run 16 feet.

As a guy who fishes DT's a lot, a DT6 that dove 10 feet would also be nice to have as well.

I like DT series cranks too but if I wanted a small body crankbait that dives to 10', I'd just get a Normal Deep Little N.  Just sayin.
