bigmikey Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Headed to Pennsylvania to smallmouth fish for the first time. Avid bass fisherman here in Texas but not much smallmouth fishing. Any advise? Is the spawn still on? Baits that are a must? Thanks in advance. Quote

bigmikey Posted May 28, 2015 Author Posted May 28, 2015 Thanks for the help. I will post how we do. Quote
masterbass Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Senkos were our most effective bait, but we just had a nasty cold front the night before we got there. I'll bet the bite is better now. Take senkos, tubes and hard jerkbaits. Quote
bigmikey Posted June 1, 2015 Author Posted June 1, 2015 Just got back from the trip. Awesome. Stayed in the bay. Saturday caught 50+ SM with another dozen LM. Jerkbaits and swimbaits did most of the damage. Best five would have pushed 25lbs. Caught a few on most everything we tried (senkos, spinnerbaits, jigs, wacky worms). Sunday, the weather was rough. 20-25 NE winds really limited the areas. Still caught a dozen. Beautiful place. Already talking about next May. Thanks for all the tips. 1 Quote
