shewantsthedj Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I own the Okeechobee Fats tacklebox that hatrix mentioned and can confirm that it is a tank. It has held up very well to pretty constant abuse and also has plenty of room for anything you could possibly need. Another thing I love is that it doesn't feel cheap, it actually feels pretty rugged. The zippers are all smooth too which is another big plus for me. Quote
hatrix Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Does that fats deluxe bag have a light on it? I had read somewhere it came with a light in the lid. 1 Quote
Sonik Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Cabelas has their green bags on sale. You can get them with ot without storage boxes. Very sturdy bags with lots of storage. I have the 360 and 370 BPS bags and they are not near the quality of the Cabelas bag. Quote

Super User DogBone_384 Posted May 30, 2015 Super User Posted May 30, 2015 i have a Spiderwire backpack & bag. They're imported, but are well built & durable. I've had the backpack three years now, not a rip or tear anywhere. For plastic boxes, I prefer Plano. They have a wide selection of size & configuration. Most of them are made in the US. Quote
Sonik Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 u mean the advanced angler series? do u have the magnum by chance? Correct. I do have the magnum. It holds 8 of the 3700 series boxes. I made a mistake though. The bags without included boxes are on sale. The bags with boxes are not. Quote
Phish Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 But I did find the Okeechobee Fats Deluxe and o boy. It is crazy cheap and not only does it hold 8 3700 it also comes with them. They are cheap ones but its still nice to get them with the bag. Every review I have seen on it says they had it for years and it's a tank has never ripped and they love it. I've owned this tackle bag for 10 years, maybe longer. Possibly the older version but nearly the exact same. I used to take it on club tournies as a non-boater. It is a beast and has withstood a beating. It is pretty cumbersome hauling around though, especially if bank fishing. If I had my own boat I'd still be using it exclusively. I got a backup Okechobee Fats for shore fishing, about half the size. It's been great as well for probably 6-8 years. This large version does have a built in light, just a small red LED type light in the main compartment. Pretty cool but I rarely used it. Just this week however I switched to a backpack - tired of killing my shoulder with the single strap when beating the banks. I'll keep both Okechobees as backups for storing extra tackle in my car for long trips. The backpack fits more than the small Okechobee and is better suited for most of the fishing I do. it's an Okuma and it is a great value at $60 - if it lasts a while. Only drawback is it doesn't fit a Plano Hook & Sinker box. Quote
livemusic Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 That Gander Mtn bag isn't bad. It actually holds 7 3700 boxes but it's $80. I am not sure if there is a backpack that actually holds more then 4 3700 boxes. I think I might have seen like every tackle bag ever looking. Well maybe some Wild River ones do or other bags that are like $150 or more. But I did find the Okeechobee Fats Deluxe and o boy. Every review I have seen on it says they had it for years and it's a tank has never ripped and they love it. I saw a pic of one and it looked like the 3700s sit in there horizontally -- parallel to the ground, instead of on end. This would mean you could not see what is in your 3700s? And you would have to take them all out to get to the bottom ones? Quote
robster80 Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 saw this one at academy think i may pick one up URL=http://s1347.photobucket.com/user/robster80/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpsxjwi90cp.jpg.html] Quote
ayoung3815 Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 ^^^ fishing back packs are very expensive... I went to walmart or target when they have back to school sale and get a regular backpack with three compartments.. hold five of the thin Plano boxes, on top I fit my freezer bad of worms. In the small pocket I put bait knife, pliers, etc. And in the middle pocket I put some snacks and what ever else I need. If u got look at regular backpacks and get a little creative, not only do u save money but they have more room in them then the angler back packs. Quote
shewantsthedj Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Does that fats deluxe bag have a light on it? I had read somewhere it came with a light in the lid. Yes it does, I'd still recommend bringing a light with you in the event that you need one. Quote
Danturner Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Field and stream ultimate 370 tackle bag with Plano or flambeau boxes love the bag large but functional I own 4 Quote

I wan't to say its the same dimensions either way you stack 8 boxes. All on top of each other or standing up long ways. I am not totally sure but just thinking it would be really close. Quote
