Super User HoosierHawgs Posted May 25, 2015 Super User Posted May 25, 2015 I like nylon line a lot for its suppleness and was looking for a very abrasion resistant mono for cranking. What is the most abrasion resistant nylon line in your opinion. Quote

Super User Raul Posted May 25, 2015 Super User Posted May 25, 2015 The only problem you will find with the most abrasion resistant nylon is that it´s going to be rope thick and coil like a friggin slinky. I´ve fished for more than 25 years with Trilene Big Game and it´s enough resistant to abrasion while not being that stiff, that thick or coil that bad. 2 Quote
Super User HoosierHawgs Posted May 25, 2015 Author Super User Posted May 25, 2015 What about Sunline Defier or Defier Armilo. I'm not worried about cost, I'm more worried about a quality abrasion resistant line that handles well. The reason I'd rather go nylon over fluorocarbon is that I would hope there would be something abrasion resistant but better handling than fluorocarbon. 1 Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted May 25, 2015 Super User Posted May 25, 2015 I really like the Defier Armilo. I have it spooled up to take to Mexico in June. 2 Quote
thirtysixit Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I have recently switched all of my cranking reels over to 12lb Big Game. It casts a mile and is extremely strong. I made a bad cast into a tree the other day and actually got frustrated that I couldn't break the line off. I had to take the time to move to the tree and slowly unwind the mess I made with my poor cast. For the price there is not a better mono in my opinion. I absolutely love it. Ozark_Basser Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Copolymer maybe? I've been using pline cxx. It's pretty abrasion resistant. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 28, 2015 Global Moderator Posted May 28, 2015 Another vote for the Sunline. I've been really pleased with the stuff and it's the same price as fluoro but handles much nicer. Quote
faygo1979 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 the berkey iron silk is very good. that stuff is impossible to fray. Quote
Cgrinder Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I'd certainly look at CXX. Choose based on diameter as it runs thick for its advertised pound test. Quote
