Which of the Rage product line makes the best swim jig trailer ?

Posted

I can't speak for the BEST but the only Rage baits I use on swim jigs are:

Strike King Rage Tail Structure Bug
Strike King Rage Twin Tail Menace Grub
Strike King Rage Tail Grub

I do *not* like a grub or craw for a swim jig trailer. Prefer a bigger paddletail (I'm partial to skinny dippers, but others should work fine) on a small (1/4 oz usually) northern style swim jig. The idea is for the tail to walk the dog. You can just cast and wind it back without putting any rod action, and catch bass of all sizes. Try it.

Either the menace or standard curly tail grub. The most underated is the eeliminator. Big O mentioned it a few years ago and and the action is pretty awesome.

I like the structure bug and the grub, but I usually start out with a paddletail swim bait on the swimjig, if that's not working I will switch to the other.

The caffine shad? I'm so surprised that that answer wasn't the first. I've never used grubs on swimjigs. Always paddletails and possibly craws

Whoops not a rage tail series. Still highly recommend though.

been swimming my flippin jig. 3/8 oz black and blue with a D bomb trailer. just cast and pop and jerk back to the boat. had a 4 and a six yesterday doin that.

I have been using a menace grub with good results.

Swim jigs I usually use a paddle tail. 3.8" Fat Keitech. Never get bit swimming with any other trailer. Pitching and getting hit on the fall or hopping it is usually use the rage chunk or craw...

The Rage Craw is my favorite, followed by the Menace.

One of the things I will do is rig a beaver style bait sideways. Gives a big profile like a bluegill.
