Due to many factors I've aged early, just last week some guy asked how many tours I did in Viet Nam. I told him I'm 46 not 66. Anyway I hate wearing glasses, last year I started wearing contacts; great vision, at least at distance. I just carried readers with me. This year I asked about bifocal contacts, they make them. These things are awesome I can actually see to tie knots. They're a huge improvement over my lined bifocal glasses, I couldn't get used to transition type lenses. Anyone else wear these things? The only complaint I have is, if they get the least bit dry they will slip a little, causing momentary blurred vision. Couple of blinks and they shift back.

Not yet but some day lol. I just wear regular contacts for now but I've noticed my vision up close is starting to fade it seems especially now that I have been building rods trying to see wraps right in front of my face can't do it.

I've worn them for several years now.

But I've found they dry out in me while running across the lake....even with sun glasses on.

I've started not wearing them when I go fishing.......bought some reading glass stickers and put them on the bottom of my sun glasses......my distance vision is still manageable without correction. Not great...but manageable.

But they are great for work......still keep readers handy though.

Contacts are great if one can wear them, I don't think I'm a candidate.  Been wearing glasses 50 years, when I needed reading glasses my astigmatism would not allow me to wear store bought, I had to go to prescription.  For day to day activity having to carry 2 pair of glasses was too awkward, I went to progressive lenses in 1991.  From the second I put them them on I had no adjustment period, I just love them.  Over the years the technology has really improved in all facets of eyewear, If I were younger I consider surgery.  At my age cataract surgery may be on the horizon.

Not sure yet, haven't ordered the new ones, think the doc said about 15 bucks more a box.

What company makes them? I have had trouble with all brands I have tried except Acuvue. I still carry readers when I wear contacts. I spend more time looking for glasses than wearing them it seems. I'm due for an eye appointment now.....Al

Al,

They're Coopervision Purevision2 Multi-focal. I wore the Accuview Oasis, the first ones I could successfully wear. The multi-focal lense are not as comfortable as the Oasis, but after wearing them for two days I adjusted easily. Now I can swap between the two types without noticing any difference.

I'm about ready for an eye exam. Contacts have been on my mind. I'm sick of wearing glasses. I need progressive eye bra's.

My contacts are progressive type lenses, the new style contacts (compared to the old hard style) are so comfortable you don't even know you're wearing them.
