I've searched a lot to try to find a place to purchase a jig (sans skirt) like the one pictured. No luck.

Barlow's Tackle lists a Grass Jig Mold and that is where this image was captured from.

If anyone happens to have grass jigs like the one picture I would like to purchase some.

Thanks

That looks alot like the ones available from lurecraft.......Those are the heads used on the Poor Boy jigs. The LureCraft/Poorboy jigs don't have the provisions for eyes though if I remember right.

A member of this board has purchased the mold to make the "Grass Jig" and will sell them to me.

The advantage I see for the Grass Jig is the position of the eye as it is perpendicular to the ground and my experience with other jigs with the eye in that position is that it comes through vegetation cleaner. Also it has a nice barb to hold the trailer.

In addition to using the jig to fish in vegetation will also try it with or without the fiber guard for swimming soft plastics.

To better answer your question LureCraft (makers of Poor Boys) sells them for 7.99 for 10. Unpainted.

They also have these heads.....I just picked some up friday, 10 unpainted heads for 7.99. These are 3/8 oz. They also have the green pumpkin paint I used to paint them and the skirt material. These are hand tied skirts using 80lb Stren braided line (I have it on my Musky rods).

Thanks for your reply and suggestion. I'm aware of the Lure Craft Poor Boy jigs.

My reason for wanting the jig as pictured, which is from Barlow's tackle (mold only), is that the eye of the hook is perpendicular and there is a barb to help hold on the trailer. Both are not present in the Poor Boy jig.

My experience is that a perpendicular eye catches less vegetation.

Thanks to a board member I will be able to get that type of jig (sans skirt) and for a very reasonable price.

Cheaper and a board member may be the way to go......

IMO the "weedlessness" of a jig is more a function of the head shape, and the hook eye location in relation to the shank of the hook than whether it's horizontal or perpindicular.

The jig type as pictured couldn't be any more weedless.

So who is the board member that makes these? I would like 1 dozen each of the 1/4 and 5/16oz unpainted poured with the base pin.
