cadman Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Nice Poison Tails. Definitely different and nice color choices. What do you use to put in your wedguards in and what color is the head on the third one if I might ask? Quote
Thad Posted February 10, 2009 Author Posted February 10, 2009 The weedgaurds are inserted before pouring the mold. The paint on the third one is brown powder coat and then I airbrushed the belly orange. Quote

I kind of figured the weedguards were poured in place, very nice. Did you use Createx on your jig? I am slowly going to break into air brushing, just don't have the time lately. I have all the components though. Your lures and paint jobs are beautiful. I originally was starting to get into crankbait building, but again got too busy with jigs. Quote

cadman Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 I just saw your thread with the pics of your swimbait. Also read that you use automotive paint. Very impressive work, if I may say so myself. BTW, how did you get your avatar so clear. My avatar is flawless on other sites, and here it is grainy. I don't know why? Quote
Thad Posted February 10, 2009 Author Posted February 10, 2009 I just resized it and used photobucket. Quote
IDbasser Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Those are really nice jigs. I like the first one. If you don't mind, would you PM me with the colors of the skirt? Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted February 10, 2009 Super User Posted February 10, 2009 Very interesting. I hadn't thought about swimming the poisons. Those are really nice looking jigs BTW. Quote
Thad Posted February 11, 2009 Author Posted February 11, 2009 They're not the perfect swim jig but they do have the 28 degree bend and they do run true. I'm getting a mold though just for swim jigs. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted February 13, 2009 Super User Posted February 13, 2009 They work well for swim jigs I just do not like the EWG hook. The round bend mustad 32886 for heavy stuff and the 32774 for open water. Allen Quote
