I was thinking what would be a cool design for a senko type bait. The idea is a senko with a fat stomach, with tons od hair like "arms" coming from the body, and a typical senko tail for tail wag. I think if the body is larger it will create a more stable horizontal fall, and the tail will wag more vigorously. Maybe a 4 inch bait?

Its not the best picture, but just use your imagination. I will bet it would be a killer lure. What do you all think?

Who knows?  I have a mentally challanged sister that caught a 5# bass on an old wooden clothes pin with no hooks years ago.  Pour a couple and give it a try.  ;)

not tryin to sound smart but what about the hook? that seems a bit chubby to have a good hook set...  good imagination though!

If you want a larger body and flapin stuff in the middle and a tail wag might try wraping a baby yum craw around a senko and let it sink and see what happens. Who know your idea might work. On paper it looks more like a float but dang you might have something . Give it a go and let us know how you do. Good luck. :-/

I was thinkin about your design. You know what you might try just to see how the bait sinks with more weight in the middle would be to take two tube baits and shorten them leaving the skirts in place. Then slip the tubes over the senko leaving the skirts dangling at ea end then shorten the skirts or length of the tubes until you get the effect you want. I once slipped a short tube over the front end of a trickworm and fished it on a shakyhead jig. Didnt really fish it enough to see how it would do but my thinking was it would at least be something different :-?

If you want to get hands on you could make that bait.

take a fat ika and cut off the tails, melt them back onto the body. Then cut a regular senko down so you have two pieces and then melt them to the ends of your old fat ika.

My question is though, what is it supposed to resemble?

Well I have to say that it takes some imagination to get what your talking about from that picture :( but I'm blessed with a big imagination so I can see what your talking about, and from what you said your trying to get a senko bait with a slower fall and more twitch in the tail, am I right? Well maybe it's just me but I like my stick baits with only a little twitch in the tall because I believe that is what makes the fish eat it.The same with a wacky rigged worm, I catch more fish by letting it sink and letting the slight twitch do the work.  If I'm trying to get more movement out of a worm I'll use a swimming tail worm, or a curly tailed grub instead. Still who knows what a senko with a wider action will do, maybe catch more fish ;)

But you also mention that you want to give it a slower more horizontal fall. This is a great idea and I think your on the right track with the fatter middle. Try your bait and who knows, maybe you will invent the next senko, good luck
