Every one here knows that I fish the coosa chain. Without a doubt one of my favorite techniques for magnum spots is a 1/2 to 1 oz spinnerbait. I throw a 3/4 the most. The rod I currently use does fine but is very stiff and can sometimes rip them away. So I am looking for one that's around 7'3 and heavy action. let me know what you guys would suggest.

I would recommend Temple Fork outfitters 7'3" H tactical series. These rods have a good parabolic bend and are awesome for moving baits. They also have a good warranty. I use the 7' MH signature series for moving baits and love it, but you can't find the sig series as easily. They may have quit making them.

I have a Loomis SBR 864. It is their big spinnerbaits rod. Have fished up to ounce and half Ledgebusters on it. Has a nice action to launch the big spinnerbaits and has a progressive action with good bend in the upper half of the rod and lots of power in the butt section. I looked for a long time for a rod with this action and have never looked back. Caught bunches of big mean largemouth out of Falcon Lake on this rod. I have it paired with an Chronarch 100BPV and this is a work horse outfit. Usually has 40 or 50 lb braid with 20 to 30 lb flouro leader.

Do you have a price range you're trying to stay within?

I actually use my swimbait rod to chuck my 1oz+ spinners cause I've found even with my flippin stick I am wanting/need for more hooksetting power with the extra weight and big blades resistance.. plus it flings them much farther.

Phenix M1 check them out. It's the rod I use for 3/4 oz. spinnerbaits all of the time.

I am a Denali Guy.  Go look at the Koverts and Noirwood rods.

Personally I would not go with a moderate action rod, unless you'll be using braid. A dobyns 735 would fit what you want to do pretty well, a cheaper but incredibly nice rod fit this would be the tatula 7'4 frog rod. I personally have used both of these for 3/4 and 1oz spinnerbaits and they work great!
