ParkyDad Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Hey guys, does anyone have any input about these lakes? Good, bad, or otherwise? I've tried that little pier and zilch. Do I need a jon boat? I have access to one, but only if necessary. Any advice would be awesome. Quote
keith71 Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 I used to fish those lakes a lot years ago when I lived in the area. The great thing about a small boat is you can jump lake to lake in that area if the fishing is slow on one of the lakes.A Jon boat and an electric motor is a big plus.Soft plastics(motor-oil,electric blue, firecracker ) were my faves in a ribbon tail worm.Find the deeper water banks after the spawn and fish a Texas rig slowwwww.Hope this helps a little. Brayberry Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I've been fishing there over 30 years and know enough to write a book about that place. What lake were you fishing? What time of day? I'm getting ready to move to Isle of Wight and if you can help me find a few lakes out that way, I'd appreciate it. Let me know what you need to know about Lone Star. Quote
ParkyDad Posted May 28, 2015 Author Posted May 28, 2015 Keith71, thank you for the helpful tips. I've got a lot to learn!!! Quote
ParkyDad Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Brayberry, best bass lake, and best panfish lake? I can get a jon boat from a friend, if needed. I'm a bass newbie, but not to fishing. IOW lakes, I gotta research, not many but I'll check. Quote
