I own several of the Tourney Pro's, so I'm very familiar with how they feel and fish.  I'm probably going to buy a couple of the 99 buck ( 80 on Ebay)LFS speed spools to replace a couple Citica's.   For those of you who have used both the Pro's and the basic LFS, what is the difference in feel and castability?   I'm familiar with the mechanical diffrences..ie, handle, etc.

I wouldn't expect the LFS to be as good as the T Pro. You can buy a T Pro on American Legacy Fishing for $139.00 right now. They have deals on Shimano to.

The LFS is made in China. I sold both of my Chinese speed spools in favor of Korean-made reels. So much smoother, better fit and finish.

Still a great reel.

Good advice ^^^

Kyle put a T Pro on your new Team Rod and see how it works for you. You won't be happy with a lesser reel. You could look at and consider a Super Duty reel too. Beefy little bugger.

I'd go with a BB1. A little searching and they can be found for around $100

Depends on the application IMO. BB1 is good for some things...TP good for everything else. TP would be a great multi purpose/multi condition setup.

My Team Reels are basically the TP + cosmetics...and they make the Chinese Speed Spools seem inadequate.

Wow...didn't know about the LFS series being made in China.   Glad I asked the question.   I think I may pick up a Tournament MG instead, either the new, or maybe the old.  We'll see.  Thanks!

Not trying to put you on the spot, but where did you get your info that the LFS is made in China?   I only ask because I was in Dicks spg today and they had the LFS speed spool on display.  It had a Made in Korea sticker on it like the TP, BB2, and MB.  I know, I know, it's just a sticker, but got me thinking.

yeah, my Lews Tournament Lite SS has a made in Korea sticker on it.

I got it in September, maybe there was a manufacture site change.

Nope. The Tournament lite is an upper end reel. Very nice. Made at Doyo Engineering/manufacturing in Korea.

Very nice reel.

The cheaper LFS and American Hero reels are made in China.

I have a friend that had a Tourney pro like mine, he liked it a lot and figured Lews was the reel he was going to start using exclusively. Well he decided he is getting his son a regular speed spool, before the LFS deal, and he ask me to go fishing and he takes the son's reel to get it dialed in before he gave it to him. Well after a half day of using it he kept it, and took his Tournament pro back and got 2 more speed spools. He told me he thought it performed the same as the TP but the heavier weight felt better on the Veritas rod he had, fast forward to the LFS models and his deck is full of them. I used one and it had me seriously thinking of grabbing 2 of them instead of another TP, before they were too heavy for my liking but not they are really nice, I'd say the best $99 reel out there.

i have speed spool lfs, tournament and tournament pro's. they are all nice and adequate for the task at hand. lfs vs tournament.....basically mag brakes vs dual brakes. lfs vs tournament pro.....tournament pro is in another league as far as smoothness and adjustability .

I've owned a few cheap reels and some nicer quantum reels. i think any lews reel is a better bang for you buck and each step up in the lews line is worth the money.

If you have see this deal inbox me! I have 2 BB1 and Im in search of another for $100.00. I can only find them for $179.99. I mean I know I'm in canada but even with conversion and shipping I'm still ahead of the game at that price.
