Super User roadwarrior Posted May 21, 2015 Super User Posted May 21, 2015 Oklahoma and Texas continue to get pounded. What is it like in your neck of the woods? Here in the Mid South we have had over 7" this week and around 15" for the month. Now it's cool and dry, but we expect rain to move in again Sunday. Quote
Super User whitwolf Posted May 21, 2015 Super User Posted May 21, 2015 Here in the foothills of NC It's been dry for the past several weeks. In the end though we've had aplenty of rain the previous two years. Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted May 21, 2015 Super User Posted May 21, 2015 April here in South Ind. was very wet, very dry in May, but only a couple inches below normal.. Quote

Rained heavily the day before yesterday, yesterday it seemed it was going to rain but other than a few drops and lots of wind nothing really happened, right now it´s really cloudy and I can see very black clouds on the northern horizon of the city. Super User RoLo Posted May 22, 2015 Super User Posted May 22, 2015 Seven inches of rain in one week? (drought indeed) During the past couple weeks, the weather in central Florida has been sunny & pleasant (cool dry air - hot sun). All the same, we really need some rainfall; because a lot of our backyard plants are badly wilted. Fortunately, June and July is our rainy season, so my fingers are crossed. Roger Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted May 22, 2015 Super User Posted May 22, 2015 Some lakes here went from 6 ft low to 12 ft over and closed for Memorial day weekend. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 22, 2015 Global Moderator Posted May 22, 2015 Our lakes are almost all full at the very least. Some are several feet high now but they're letting water out fast for the upcoming holiday weekend. I'm hoping the lakes in the western part of the state got the same rain we got as they were by far the lowest. Quote
BasshunterJGH Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 It's getting worse here in California. Weather reporters are still talking about an El Nino Local lakes are drying up. Lopez at 38% capacity, Nacimiento 27%, Santa Margarita 16%, Cachuma 16%, and San Antonio 5%. Quote

Very serious, it's been reported as the worst drought in 1200 years in that region, now there is an oil spill to deal with too. Quote

BassnChris Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Here, near Tulsa, on Ft. Gibson Lake......14.5' above normal and rising as of 1000 hrs this morning. More rain expected Sat, Sun and Monday (some very heavy.) Then chance of rain everyday through Friday per the 7 day outlook. Here is my preferred ramp. (Most are closed as I understand.) Top of the ramp is out where the light pole is. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted May 24, 2015 Super User Posted May 24, 2015 I live within a few miles of Chris here in Tulsa. We are rapidly approaching the wettest month on record, if we haven't exceeded it today. I have an on-site weather station. Within the last three hours we have received 3.7 inches of rain, with the heaviest rate at 9.6 inches per hour. After five years of drought, the ground is now saturated from earlier rains. This evening there is street flooding all over the city. Quote
brgbassmaster Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Recently stationed in AZ now and they have had more rain than usual in may but im not going to say it was a lot lol. The locals here think it is but not really. They even freaked out when I was out killing it on frogs in some sprinkles. They said they don't fish when its rainy. Guess its better than no rain though. Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 24, 2015 Global Moderator Posted May 24, 2015 Pouring now on top of our already flooded lakes. My favorite smallie lake was 4.5' high before this rain started, and they're talking about good chances of rain through Tuesday. Quote
