lecisnith Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Got out for a few hours after work today and caught a bunch. Started with a slew of little smallies, most of them on senkos rigged weightless T-rigs. One little one on a shadow rap and another on a spinnerbait. Tied a different color spinner on and immediately got into about a 4 pound largemouth. After the spinnerbait bite died I went back to the senko and switched from a green pumpkin to a baby bass color since I was catching so many little bass and got a couple nicer smallies. Finished off the evening with almost 3 pound smallie on the green pumpkin senko on a shaky head. My buddy caught a few nice ones on spinnerbaits, as well. So, yeah, I'm starting to get a lot more confidence in the senko after never having caught anything with them before a week ago I've gotten ten on it the last two times out. And no deep-hooked fish this time, either. Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted May 21, 2015 Super User Posted May 21, 2015 The 5" Senko in GP or GP with the chart. tip, wacky or t-rigged weightless, has been my top numbers bait for awhile where I fish...they started to feel a bit like a crutch, actually -- now I only put one on when things get slow. There is no denying their productivity, though. Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted May 21, 2015 Super User Posted May 21, 2015 They're great bait's and in most situations, I have a 4" tied up wacky style and a 5" texas rigged. It's hard to argue with their productivity. Congrats on gaining confidence in a new bait though! Quote
Super User fishinfiend Posted May 21, 2015 Super User Posted May 21, 2015 lol yep Almost ALWAYS work Quote
FishinCop646 Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 I have a love/hate relationship with the Senko. I love catching fish and there is no doubt that senkos catch fish. I prefer to power fish, though. I hate when I have to resort to throwing a senko because it just isn't my style! There are days when that is all I can catch them on... Quote
