over the past 2 years I've been using more swim jigs and chatterbaits rather than spinnerbaits, so is  their a time where you will pick up a spinnerbait over the other 2?

thanks

Almost every time ;)

Most of the time, actually. I usually go to a swim jig if my spinnerbait keeps fouling up because the jig comes through weeds better. I usually catch a lot more on a spinnerbait than a chatterbait, so I might not be the best source of info on when to throw which one  :rolleyes7:

In the same places I would throw a swim jig, except it depends on conditions. If the wind is blowing pretty good, spinnerbait. If it's calm and clear, swimjig.

Chatterbaits usually get thrown in stained water for me.

Also if the water is really dirty I'll go spinnerbaits. I think the thump makes them want it and the flash helps them find it.

I will have Spinnerbaits tied on exclusively when fishing a laydown or other wood cover. I'll usually pick up a spinnerbait most of the time because it works where I fish and I have a lot of confidence in it. I only fish a swimming jig when there is a lot, and I mean a LOT of grass.

Never caught a fish on a jig, but where I fish might have something to do with that. Spinnerbaits I've had no problems.

Ditto to everything said before. Specifically when around wood or in stained water.

I mainly opt for the spinnerbait in clear water, or when I want more flash.

I haven't used chatterbaits, but I use spinnerbaits and swimjigs A LOT. For me I go to the spinnerbait when there is chop in the water or in lower light conditions. The swimjig gets the call in dead calm conditions. I also fish a swimjig at about half the speed I fish a spinnerbait, with more twitches.

The spinnerbait is my favorite bait and I throw it first most of the time, but if I'm not getting any action or any signs of activity I'll go right over to a swim jig. The chatterbait is my dirty water bait, it has replaced the Colorado spinnerbait for me in that aspect but I also use it as a change up during a spinnerbait bite. If I'm catching cookie cutter fish on a spinnerbait I'll switch to a chatterbait and see is it doesn't get a big fish to commit and most of the time it will work, especially if there are others throwing spinnerbaits.
