Guys iv'e been wanting to give my trick worms a greater attraction to the bass and now i have it!

When i use trick worms i usually fish it with a 1/8 oz. weight and hop it off the bottom, when i do this it will stand up for a brief second then slowly fall flat. But i have an idea to keep it up in the water and give it more action.

Just simply insert a little air in the tail with a needle, and you have a weighted worm that stands upright! Tell me if i'm wrong, but this might be the new thing that bass haven't seen yet and will go after. Zoom worms claim to be floating, but even weightless rigging still sink slowly. I have yet to try it but when i do, and any of you do, i'll open a topic in Fishing Reports and we'll share our results.

But for now tell me what you think and if it should produce fish! Lets here it.

They have seen it, albeit a while ago.. There use to be inflator needle bottles to do that very thing..

I used it a bit but gave up after a little experimentation.. But they do float better, so I would continue with your ideal & enjoy it!

I've tried it with some insulin hypos, it isn't easy to get the air to to go in and then to stay in.  If you want a standup trickworm, buy the Strike King or Z-man version with elastec. Much easier and more reliable than fumbling around with a needle.

You could just buy shaky heads

Check out the Kicker Fish Hightail Holeshot Shaky worm.   They have holes in the tail that trap air and make them float.  Really good baits.

Does anyone know the name of this soft plastic worm.

- smells like candy

-says fish it slow on the package

- has a hollow part for the last 1/3 of the bait.

- The package was white

This worm stood up very well but I can't find it.

Megastrike Shake2 shakey heads stand up every time and will never fall to the side like other shakey head jigs. Zman finesse wormz will float upright. The no salt zoom trick worms float too. The Zman ones are a pita to get to stay on a screw lock keeper though. A dab of super glue helps a lot to fix that issue though.

Big Bite Baits Squirrel Tail Worm floats tail up very well, but they are a bit fragile because of the thin section right before the tail.

Heat up your screwlock with a lighter.

Damiki air craws will also stand up because the claws on them are hollow

This is an air craw on a Gamakatsu Alien Head jig.

And here's a better photo of the craws and the claw design.

Strike King 3X Elaztech Finesse Worm
Strike King 3X ElazTech Zero
Z Man Saw Tail WormZ
Z Man Finesse Wormz

And many others will stand up without any adjustments with a bullet weight or other.
