bwillis Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Don't know why I never thought of this one either. Good idea. It works really well in lily pads, especially in gaps between groups of pads. Quote
Super User scaleface Posted May 20, 2015 Super User Posted May 20, 2015 What kind of flipping hook do you use? Just whatever I have on hand . I'm not brand picky. I bought several packs of Eagle claws one year and am still using them. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted May 20, 2015 Super User Posted May 20, 2015 Bank fishing or boat fishing. If you are bank fishing, but best piece of gear you could get to assist in this situation would be a pair of hip boots or waders, to allow you to get off the bank a little bit and make it easier to parallel the weed edge. If you're boat fishing, every one else's suggestions will work sooner or later. Me - for deep weed lines - in the 10 to 15 foot range - my best bait the past year and a half has been a home made, half ounce jika rig. Quote
brgbassmaster Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 I would punch that grass. Big weight and a creature Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted May 20, 2015 Super User Posted May 20, 2015 My favorites are a jig, shallow running crank, fluke, senko, spinnerbait, or a chatterbait. If the weeds are really thick I will use a frog. Quote
primetime Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Bomber Long A Floater, LIpless Crankbait, Weedless spoon, actually spinnerbaits, cranks, everything works on the edge, If only all the fish stayed on the edge fishing would be so much easier.... Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 21, 2015 Global Moderator Posted May 21, 2015 Bladed jig if they're shallow. Jig or T rigged beaver or brush hog if they're deeper. Quote
