Today I caught three 12 lbs carp. This is my first carp I have ever caught within the US! I'm so excited! I used Multi Rig with creamed corn+quick greets+white bread. Used the same bait to chumm the area about 20-30 min prior to fishing.

Congrats :thumbsup_blue:

What size tackle were you using?  Were they grass or common carp?

I love carp and will definitely be targeting them this season on the river.

Most bass anglers don't...but I'm a "multi-species" angler so I love them all :smile7:

Well, they are a great addition to anyone's garden once caught! :)

haha true enough...but only as long as that garden includes a carp pond to release them in to live and spool my reel another day :)

Don't worry, that kind of mentality exists everywhere. Where I live the vast majority of anglers HATE Bass since they are considered an invasive species, and it is always "chuck it in the bushes" or "more fertilizer!". People like what they like, and if they don't enjoy the same things as you then that just means more for you!

I have yet to catch a carp. I would love to but I don't have the patience to sit and wait.

That's all true.

I just enjoy fishing for many different species and releasing them all safely back into the water.

It was common carp. The hook was size 10 eagle claw, the main weight was one ounce and the "pin down" was 1/44 oz. The first fish I caught was within one hour after I casted, the other two were within 20-30 min apart from each other. Didn't take to long. They gave me a good fight!

I fish for carp often. I chum the area down with canned whole kernel corn and use it as bait. I'm interested in your bait . How do you make it ?

Se the very first post. Wetten the bread and smush it. Mix all toghether.  Should not be to dry because it crambles and won't stay on a hook.. Should not be too wet either.  Be cautious when adding water since the corn already has water in it.

Have you gone back out carp fishing lately?

I might try to catch some this week on the river.  Exciting fish to catch no doubt :)

It is fun :) Actually I was going to fish tomorrow but I can't. Whent to the beach did some surf fishing and my feet got sunburned so badly that I barelly can step on it. The skin is sore and swollen so I can't put any shoes on :cry3:  But it was fun :respect-059:

The carp are spawning and 8 plus pounders can be seen all over. Makes a bass fisherman think about how fun it would be to fight. I caught a 4 or 5 lb sheepshead today which was a fun fight. Sometimes I think if you are putting it back anyway wouldn't you like to catch the biggest fish regardless of the species
