Super User slonezp Posted May 15, 2015 Super User Posted May 15, 2015 I trust my Ipilot....but not that much Quote
Crappiebasser Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I did it once when I first got mine just playing around but wouldn't make it a habit. Quote
Super User Way2slow Posted May 16, 2015 Super User Posted May 16, 2015 Mine won't clear the trailer when it's down! Unless I back my truck half way in the lake to get the trailer deep enough to clear, and don't care to do that. So, if I have to be in the boat to deploy the TM after boat has cleared the trailer, just as well go ahead and pull boat to dock while I'm at it. Quote
MikeinFresno Posted May 17, 2015 Author Posted May 17, 2015 had not thot about deploying issues Quote
Super User tomustang Posted May 17, 2015 Super User Posted May 17, 2015 If the signal was better it wouldn't be that bad, the darn thing has a hard time keeping in contact with a finger in its way 2ft away from each other Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted May 17, 2015 Super User Posted May 17, 2015 I've done it, but I was just showing off. If I didn't have a few buddies around with boats I wouldn't have tried it. If you are going to try it and are driving your boat twards you turn your remote around and point it at you so the controls are not backwards Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted May 17, 2015 Super User Posted May 17, 2015 Other than trying to impress, or entertain others, why? Study Murphy's Law. Using the remote controlled trolling motor adds one more factor into the operation that can go wrong. When that something goes wrong, you end up with egg on your face at the very least. Quote
