Ive only been out a few times the last couple of weeks. Got skunked one evening, first one in a long time. Ive found that the topwater frog action has diminished but am having some luck with t-rigged senkos. I also caught my pb but didnt have a scale. She came out if a private lake so it was kind of a ringer.

Here she is, only way to tell how big is by looking at my hand vs her mouth. Came on a beat up booyah pad crasher.

Been having success with senkos after 930 at night. The fish dont seem to wake up until then. This recent heat wave isnt helping things though!

I'm also catching them on Senkos or whatever stickbait I grab. Lots of schooled up bass chasing baitfish on the surface. Haven't caught anything big but still fun.

Went out this morning and tore them up on stanley floating toads, frogs, and senkos. Caught my biggest 'verified' fish of the season. She slammed a booyah padcrasher right before sunrise. 4.94 lbs

Got another big one tonight on a stanley top toad. I was sure she was over 5, unfortunately it weighed EXACTLY the same as my last pb caught on saturday! I cant seem to break 5lbs. My goal was to catch a 6lber this year but i think im going to be satisfied with a 5 at this point.

ok, im kinda of new to this style of fishing. I started fly fishing around 1988, was die hard fly fisherman until this year when the copious rain made fly fishing for any species impossible. I bought a left handed bait casting outfit in June. I have had some luck with it, but still trying to figure out what baits to use on what days and whether or not i should get a spinning outfit.  Any advice is greatly appreciated. I have had luck in smaller waters outside the okc area, but have decided not to continue with OKC fishing permits. I've been fishing Lexington wma a lot late july early aug and its been fairly consistant early in the am, sun up until about 10 am, several 4 lb fish with senkos. Went back last week and Dahlgren is drawn down again for the scheduled upgrades, but other smaller water in the wma is still fishing well.

ok, does anybody volunteer to assist with the Paralyzed Vets of America tourney. I have in the past but work and being a single dad prevented my volunteering in recent years. I spoke with the chairman, a paralyzed vet himself, and they are in need of boat captains, and other assistance. Its a good deal, they pay for hotels, boat captains participate in one day of the tourney with the vet, the second day is just vet, they also have a banquet. I know it seems like a hassle but the vets really enjoy it. Its on Eufala, and the link is http://www.pva.org/site/c.ajIRK9NJLcJ2E/b.9176253/k.3CFC/2015_Schedule.htm#stop1set for Sept 26- 28th. I'm not on this site to promote I just thought of it and decided to see if you might be interested, Like I said I've done it in the past and always had a blast, and caught some really good fish.

lectricbassman I am in the. Norman area and rather fish small bodies of water than lakes or reservoirs, I have a brand new two person bass boat that has never been on the water, I plan on getting a battery for the trolling motor. I am looking for with a truck since I don't drive anymore because of health problems, looking for a friend that wouldn't mind coming by to get me and go pond hopping. There is a pond in Blanchard which has big bass, I have permission to fish. If you don't have any plans Saturday or Sunday let's go pond hopping. May the fishing God's guide you to the big bass.

Going to hit Lawtonka this morning. Will give report later.

Wind was howlin so limited my fishing spots severely. Being in a Pelican 10e, stayed inside the no wake area at the main launch, water surface temp is at 41, lake is full, fish were not where I was.

At least you tried!

i didn't have time to get to fish......but my wife and I towed the boat 35 minutes to the boat ramp......backed it down until the lower unit was unde water and fired her up for 5 minutes. Wanted to check out a recent mod. Then pulled out and headed the 35 minutes back home.......that hurt.:hammerblows:

Didn't anyone see that "bump" we just hit. C'mon fellow Okies, chime in with some new material. We just had the bassmasters classic here and noone posted anything about it. Water temp in my lake is 55, thing should start to happen real quick.

@Wnspain Went out saturday afternoon and hauled in a massive 3 dinks, all on a zoom lizard. Hoping to get back on the water after this next week of sketchy weather. Cmon springtime!

The weekend isn't looking too bad weather wise. I think I'll have to force myself to :fishing2:

Went out yesterday and got skunked. Water is muddy from all the rain and the weather has the fish acting goofy.

Posted

Gibson is muddy too......has been for weeks.

water temps were 55ish.

i got skunked but my wife caught a 3 lb bass......she was excited.....a new personal best for her.

i talked with a few others.....caught 1 or got skunked was the general line.

I also was out on Fort Gibson lake saturday....

Caught a real nice 4lb off of shallow crank bait.

Then caught 2 sand bass off of different crank baits :/.

Water temp was really warm for this time of year which bassnchris has said 55- 57 degrees.

Really Muddy which with all the rain lately is going to happen.

Going to try to get back out this weekend not real sure where yet.

Good luck everybody

Started catching a lot of small bucks up shallow this week.  They seem to be livening up a bit in my area, but haven't started fanning beds yet.

Went to Hugo, OK this past weekend. Weather wasn't all that cooperative but did manage to land a couple of nice ones.

Overall the bass were biting when we weren't taking cover from the hail.

Definitely not on the beds yet, still in pre-spawn and eager to bite.  That's my fishing buddy there in the pic with the 6lb 4oz'r in his hands. He caught most in 8 - 10 FOW using a spinner or a buzzbait. The other one is my 5lb. 3oz caught on a Keitech Swing Impact Fat 4.8. The were steadily going after it but then they weren't being too picky at anything we threw. Put a senko on for a while and was bit every time. I'd imagine they would have taken anything we threw. Overall good fishing but the weather kinda limited time on the water, rain I can handle, lightning and hail, time to take cover.
