Right My name is Orin Mount i'm in springfield mo and i'm 23 so i'm still a youngling. Well parents just moved out (strange it's supposed to be the other way i know) and one of the strongest obsessions I have is fishing ( I picked it up from my father). Recently my girlfriend and I have been looking into finding our own favorite places to go ( we have been fond of tablerock as o late) but that is besides the point. We used to go after white bass back when my parents were still living with us; but they switched over to trout and we never touched the warm water species again.  We always went down to the sock river when the whites were spawning; so I was wondering if they are in that area and if we missed the run where would be the best place to go? Also what else is biting really good and where is the best place to go for them? Please and thank you for your time.

The white bass runs are done here, so I'm sure they are down by you as well. They're usually offshore chasing bait once they're done spawning, which is about impossible to pattern.

I have a trick for that one at the Dale :)

Follow the gulls .  The gulls know where the whites bust shad . If the gulls are actively feeding then so are the whites. If they are sitting  on the water or shore they are waiting. Gulls send out scouts and when one sees the whites busting it will alert the flock . I always see the gulls on flats , thats where the whites are . The channel and blue cats will be under them .
