Sea NaCl Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 The other day I bought a pack of 50 gummy worms for a dollar and used them for fishing a relatively large pond (6 acres) and caught 10 bass in an hour and ended with a total of 25 bass in 3 hours. I was using them wacky rigged on a VMC wacky jig head. These things may not produce as many fish as a Senko but they certainly catch fish. With the price I'd rather have 350 gummy worms instead of one pack of Senkos. Who else uses gummy worms for bait? P.S. Sorry if this thread has been made before, if it has I couldn't find it. If this thread has been made please feel free to leave a link to it. Thanks! 1
Siebert Outdoors Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Awesome. I always wondered if that would work. Same here. I've always said I wanted to try it but I ended up eating all of the gummy worms. 1
Steveo-1969 Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Heavily sugared? Or plain? Colors? C'mon man, give us more details!!! ha-ha 1
Super User J Francho Posted May 12, 2015 Super User Posted May 12, 2015 Don't gummy worms dissolve in water? How long before you are dealing with a slimy mess?
BannedForSpamming-1234555 Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Interesting...tell us more about it.
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted May 12, 2015 Super User Posted May 12, 2015 Always thought about using a bunch of them balled up on a circle hook for catfish....but bass...hmmm. I might have to start employing them on t-rigs.
yakingfisherman Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Same here. I've always said I wanted to try it but I ended up eating all of the gummy worms. lol my gummy worms are gone before I hit the water!
Super User scaleface Posted May 13, 2015 Super User Posted May 13, 2015 You could use lifesavers for added weight .
Super User F14A-B Posted May 14, 2015 Super User Posted May 14, 2015 I confess, the super sour are the bait of choice on a full or new moon ( spawn ) they have to be sprinkled with sugar though.. hehe!!
BassObsessed Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Iv'e used them years ago wacky rigged and from what I remember the action wasn't too good and they started to dissolve . They caught a few bass though.
Dogmatic Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 I used them once fishing, but it is tough unhooking those little kids! 2
Sea NaCl Posted May 14, 2015 Author Posted May 14, 2015 These things are going to win the Classic someday... About the dissolving-these gummy baits of deliciousness catch fish so fast that you'll be hooked on a fish before they even dissolve! Just kidding, they last about 30 casts before they dissolve but you have 49 more in the bag still. I use the regular non-sugarcoated ones in green and yellow colors. I wacky rig, T-Rig, Drop Shot, and use these baits weightless most of the time. To be honest power worms will work better in most cases but for a finesse approach in dark water these work great (for me at least).
Sea NaCl Posted May 14, 2015 Author Posted May 14, 2015 I used them once fishing, but it is tough unhooking those little kids! Well then...
Big C Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 I used them once fishing, but it is tough unhooking those little kids! That's why you mash down the barbs. 1
Matthew2000 Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 I used them once fishing, but it is tough unhooking those little kids! You let little kids touch you're gummy worm?
Dogmatic Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 You let little kids touch you're gummy worm? After my hookset its the last gummy worm they'll touch. ; )
