Just got done with a tournament and man I got whooped! Ended up only catching two keepers... Got a handful of good bites flipping but I just couldn't hook up. My two fish probably went 2-3lbs and the winner was around 10 something.

Its kinda a shame because I've caught a lot of good fish leading up to this tourney but it all fell apart on the one day that counted! That's banks lake for you though, just when you think your onto something everything changes, but oh well it was a blast and a great experience. Got to talk to friends and even got some free tackle!

Now I'm ready for another tournament!

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger..

Anyone who tounament fishes for any amount of time has had days like that and worse. I know, I have and it seems like all I do latley is fish tournaments.

Doesn't matter where, how or when. You think you've got a pattern down and something changes. Sometimes you know what and sometimes you won't.

At least you had a good time and didn't zero!

Good Luck on your next one.

It's a humbling experience not doing well in a tourney. Lights a fire in me to learn more, that's for sure.

Don't feel bad, I never had a bite the first tournament I ever fished and I've blanked my fair share of times since then.

I've learned more from the tournaments I didn't win than the ones I did win!

It happens, my first tournament, 1 bite in two days and it was a short fish.  Next tournament 5 fish the first day, then 1 right off the bat and then lost 2 at the end of the day.  But at least you weighted in a couple.

Had my second club tournament this past weekend. I caught or had on about 20 bass that were too short.

Got bit on a jig, slammed the hook set, to have the about 3lb fish jump off.only keeper sized one I had on all day.

Meanwhile, at some point we saw a 6 plus pounder and two about 4lb hanging off of beds completely disinterested.

I was pretty frustrated, mainly because if I only boat that 3lber, I would have finished middle of the pack.

Happens to the best.  Ask KVD how the Classic was last year.  The best saying ever is, It's called fishin NOT catchin!  Good luck and keep fishin!
