How long does line last you and how often are you using that line? Just curious on how often other people change lines because I average probably 3-4 times per year.

I usually change my line out once every 2-3 years. Mono or braid is what I use or a combination of both.

I usually use my line 5-7 days a week from early April to early November.

You are talking about on the reel, correct? It depends on the type. I have had braid last many seasons. Mono and copolymer can get through one season or more oif you are ok with its performance. Floro I don't trust as much. It's seems tempromental to me. I would change it at least 2x per season. I don't use floro anymore unless just for a leader off of braid.

Yes I'm talking about on the reel and thanks for your replies! With braid I can get multiple seasons as well but I mainly use fluoro and that I change the few times through the year.

I'll use braid for a couple years if there's enough on the spool. Mono and copoly gets changed about once a month during peak season. Fluoro I usually get 2 or 3 months out of before I change it.

New braid cam go a few years if it fills the spool. I change mono out at the beginning of every year.

I just put braid on my BC so we will see when I need to change that out. I don't use mono anymore. On my spinning reels I use flouro and I'm thinking I may need to change one of them out. I've got Spiderwire flouro and I really don't trust it compared to my BPS flouro. It just feels different, almost cheaper (which is silly to say because it literally does cost less). All that, and I'm experiencing line twist with it already..

Braid when the spool gets to low. Any thing else's I change whenever I feel l want fresh line. I have not set schedule it all depends how much use it has got and how it has held up.

I think that you change line whenever you feel like it or whenever it needs it.  In my experience, mono can last around a year given light usage.   Fluorocarbon lines can last longer.  My reels spooled with fluorocarbon get used the most, generally I have to re-spool because I've broken off enough times that the line is down a little bit on the spool and I'm not getting the pitching distance that I want.

I think that braid and Fireline can last several seasons.

Hmm well I just change my line every time it stops casting as smoothly as I like. or the spool get short on line. Usually every month or two. It's probably good for much longer than that.

That's gotta make the line manufacturers smile!  ;)

This for sure ^^ Sometimes it just gets beat up even with a full spool. It can be all scratchy and you feel it as you reel or not cast all well. I might change it in a week maybe a matter of days sometimes.
