Long story short, i had just recieved my rod from getting new guide put on from dvt, he did a great job!!Used it twice and managed to Break It so she cant be fixed....went from a 7'6 to a 4', Lol i guess the rod just wasnt meant to be. Then we get attacked by a swan and my buddys phone goes overboard... We still ended up catcing a few each, but daRn

Two weekends ago, on the water 10 minutes, get to a cove with the big motor, drop the trolling motor, black smoke starts pouring out of the foot controller.

It nearly ended there as the worst day of fishing ever.

Brother in Law said, "you have an emergency paddle and a pin anchor, right?"

It wasn't great, but we caught bass and that pretty much made me forget how miserable I felt earlier. Still cost me 200 bucks to fix the trolly.

 I have'nt fished since last fall due to shoulder surgery. Looks like 6 more weeks before I can, right now I would kill for even a bad day of fishing!!!!

To me, there is only a bad day of fishing if you don't catch fish AND you lose baits or other fishing gear.

Fishing is awesome. Even though I lose baits and break off giant fish and run into snakes, it's totally worth it. Not complainin'!

Ask yourself this: Would you rather have been at work? No, there are no bad days fishing. I think of it as good days and great days. If I get out and intermingle with nature, even get attacked by a swan (which I have after I got too close to her nest) and don't catch anything it's a good day to me. Count your blessings every time you get a chance to do something you love doing.

Blew my motor 2 weeks ago in the biggest tourney of my life. Blast off was 6:30 motor went pow before 6:31. It would go and blow right at the beginning of a 2 day event. In the end it went from blown motor to this  So an expensive fix turned into a good day. Although I'm still without a motor.

I respectively disagree.  Any day fishing, when you go home at the end, is a good day of fishing.  If you don't make it home, then I'm afraid I can't consider that a good day.

One day my bow mounted trolling motor ripped out of it's mountings (after getting caught in a tree root).  Then, about an hour later, the transom motor had an electrical meltdown.  Needless to say, I too, almost had a meltdown.  Fortunately, however, whereas the day was windy, I somehow remained calm and reasonably well composed.  THAT was a pretty crappy day!  and I don't mean "crappie."

Couple weeks ago fishing a tournament. Before we launched the tournament organizer had a meeting to discuss the rules. Evidently he had people culling dead fish, so the meeting was to clarify that you cannot indeed cull dead fish. As we were walking away my partner says "we don't have to worry about that, we never have a fish die". An hour later he puts a 4# in the live well. She died within minutes. (she didn't look healthy at all from the moment he caught her.  We fished for hours without another bite. Finally with a couple hours left in the tournament he hooks up with another good keeper. This fish is really lively banging around in the live well. After about 30 minutes he hooks up with a giant. He was man handling the fish a good bit and just as I was about to yell "give it some drag" the fish pulled off. He sits down collects his thoughts and he says. "I better check on this other fish, its not banging anymore" He opens the live well to check and this fish jumps out of the live well, he dives for the fish and hurts his knee, the fish flopped one time and went into the water. We fished about another 30 minutes and decided to put the boat up and call it a day. Still it was a good day fishing because I wasn't at work.
