Butler and McPherson are the ones that I am really wondering about but really anywhere fish are being pulled out of would be cool also. Went out to Butler last week to fish and I am dissapointed in the fact that the lake has been taken over by crappie. Never been to McPherson but thinking about going sometime this weekend. thx JT

Been to Butler twice this year think I caught 1 on both trips combined, but that was about a 3 weeks ago. Went to Mcpherson last Thursday, Eureka on Friday, and Cowely on Saturday. Had the best luck at Eureka. Caught 3 at Mcpherson and 1 at Cowely. Fished in the rain at Eureka but did decent. First time I have ever been to Eureka and Cowely both very nice lakes, but I liked all the docks at Eureka.

I've heard good things about Eureka, including some very large fish. Never have made it down there but maybe someday.

Anybody had any luck this last week around Wichita? I have been struggling to get bites since all of this rain in May happened.

I just hit up that Great Plains Nature center today and the big ones were hitting the black cavitron buzz bait.

Well Levi and I are hitting up ole Butler at 6am so hopefully we have some luck.  I have the buzz baits ready haha.  I will probably end up using the plastics though.

Which part of the nature center? I'm having trouble figuring out exactly where they allow fishing, kind of vague. Did fish chisholm lake and caught a couple on big bite baits 8" kriet tail lizards in texas red green pumpkin color rigged weightless. Fish were 15ft or so off the bank, guessing about 6 to 10 feet of water.

We did alright nothing to big though.  Right now I am hooked on Buzz Baits and they never seem to work out at Butler.  So swapped poles went with watermelon seinkos and got a dozen or so between two of us.  So wasn't amazing but any day out on lake is great time fishing.

If you go off woodlawn and then take 29th west the pond I was fishing was called island pond I believe.  I went this morning but with wind blowing so bad wasnt the best time.  I caught one and was out for a few hours.  Lost another spinner bait on something out in the water.  Seem to be lots of little trees and sticks you have to watch out for when on top water.

Sounds like senkos are working good for a lot of people right now. A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work.

Thanks. Trees and sticks mean cover, mainly looking for a place to get on some fish with frogs. Emery is ok but havent caught it with no wind. Lately what I have caught has been in calm water, little coves and corners mainly.

Butler you would have to be on boat more than likely to get to them.  Ive only been while on boat so not sure what could really get to without one.  The lily pads that is

You can reach a few pads at Butler that are off the tip of the long jettie. Just have to be on the south side of the lake.

I've never needed pads to be successful with a Frog, or a Toad. Any vegetation.

I was trying out some booyah frogs I bought yesterday out in Rose Hill this morning and came up empty handed.  I missed out on one strike but had no other hits the hour I was out.  Im guessing its all a learning curve like using all new baits.  My strategy was cast it and run it along side the banks any tips?

I had several blowups on my bullfrog colored booyah poppin pad crasher this morning at emery, hit the water and was nailed, no good hookups but glad to see it was working even in the wind and choppy water.

Yeah I was trying out frogs this weekend and new favorite thing is frogs.  Was using them yesterday and yeah I missed about 20 times.  You have to really let them take it and go down before you set hook.  Its a little hard to get used to but once you figure it out its great.
