jdw174 Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 I bought a couple of packs of these this year. They looked pretty good, but I can't figure out what rigging to use. Jighead? Which one and how would you rig it? TR it? Maybe, but which hook would you use? Quote
MyKeyBe Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 The hollow body craw? Rig it like a tube. You can use a jighead or weedless/weightless with a hook. Use a hook inside the craw and a weight outside. You could also place a small bell sinker inside the craw so the loop on top of the sinker is facing the tail, now thread a wide gap hook through the tail of the craw and make sure you also go through the loop on the sinker and bring the hook point out through the bottom of the craw. Tex-pose or texas rig as you would any other plastic bait. This works well as the hook keeps the sinker from falling out of the lure and the sinker's loop keeps the hook from sliding forward. Quote
ejtaylor822 Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I have rigged these using a weedless 1/4 or 3/8 oz round head jig. Stick the jig head through the craw - head to tail, then poke the eye through the back/tail and tie on the line. Orient the jig so that the hook will be over or through the head. If using a big craw, can poke the hook through the top, almost T-rigged style, or just let the hook stay out where its over the head. I then bounce this along the bottom - gives it a nice action as it looks like it is bouncing back on its tail. Has worked well for me. When using a jig, I just thread the hook through the tail and push it back as far as possible. Then T-rig it through the top. I like what MyKeyBe was describing as well with the sinker inside. Sounds like that would not get hung up as much as what I am using. Will have to give it a try. Eddie Quote
