adriank123 Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I may be going down to Carlyle Lake in a couple weeks and I would like to know what the bass are biting on and where they are at. I know this will change by the time I get there but I want to have an idea of what I'm coming up against. I will also have access to a boat . Past experiences, comments, and opinions about Carlyle Lake are good too. Thank you. Quote
CRANKENSTIEN Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 a friend was down there a couple of weeks ago and struggled for bass and. Crappie. He said the lake was drained down because of some type of repair I believe. Maybe it has improved or some research on fishing a drained down resevoir could help. Quote
Skunked again Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I was their end of last week. They where not biting on spinnerbaits(both 1arm and 3 arm), 2.5 square bills, jigs, flukes, crankbaits (various), traps, t rigged craws. Used various colors of all of above. The shad where spawning on the riprap. Quote
Cody S Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I grew up on Carlyle and areas that usually produce are fishing the rip rap of the Dam from the beach to about the fifth light post on top of the dam, the outside rip rap wall of the marina just down the beach from the main dam fishing cranks, there are also brush piles sunk off the point of that wall, there is a small boat ramp at the back of a cove called Apache that has a large reef of sunken Christmas trees that is always good for a few sorry it's not very detailed those are just the spots that I can remember it's been a few years since I have fished there Quote
