It's about integrity. You don't make an example and everyone just goes on thinking cheating is ok, not just the Pats. It's not about the game. The Pats would have won anyways. And they knew that. So the fact that they blatantly cheated says to the rest of the league: We don't care, we are above the rules. We will do anything to win. Make an example, and maybe NFL football will be worth watching again.

At least they suck at something ... cheating.  LOL

That and court trials....

Bills 1-0

Pats 0-1

Brady to be suspended next week..

Patriots are bracing themselves for a 6-8 game ban but 2 game is more likely.

they will probably give him 4 games so they get a nice test out of the backup with a name nobody can spell and then returns against, you guessed it, the Colts.  The whole thing is shady and it isn't new to the cheatriots either, obviously.  I would love to see him say ah, forget it, I am retiring lol

Its time for a new team to take over the AFC East.. This happening to the pats is pure comedy and I can only hope it takes them back to being the team they were before Parcells and Belichick

Well a 1, 2,3 or 4 game supension would sting his pride. Won't hurt his pocketbook really.. It will affect whatever legacy he would have.

I really couldn't care who won.  Playing football is fun.  Watching it is not.

That said, if somebody won something and cheated in the winning of it (whether or not the cheating had any bearing on the actual winning of the thing), then that person or team should be stripped of all winnings and titles.

The rumor I have been hearing around Indy is 1 year for Brady, 4 games for Belichick, 2016's 1st Round draft pick, a large fine, and staff involved must be released from stadium service.

Again this is all rumor......

Sounds more like wishful thinking from Indy fans than anything. Belichick will get at most a fine for "ignorance" as they have no proof he had anythung to do with it. I can see the two assistants getting fired/banned. I see brady getting 1-2 games max unless the nfl drops the hammer. Then i see 6 at most. That basically ruins their season anyway. Doubt any draft picks are taken away but i wouldnt be surprised if they penalize them with their past in mind.

No matter what happens the media will be moving from "Deflate-Gate" to the "Brady Ban".

One thing is for sure, there will be some action taken against the Patriots organization.

Wow....that's steeper than I thought I would be....no individual penalty for Belichick or the two assistants or maybe more is coming?

NFL suspended Patriots QB Tom Brady four games for league violations tied to his role in DeflateGate.

The league has also stripped New England of its 2016 first-round pick and a fourth-rounder in 2017, in addition to a $1 million fine. it's an incredibly steep punishment for the organization. Brady figures to appeal his ban, which could result in a reduction to two or three games.

Lmfao!!!!!!!!! Hahahahaha! Love it

50 year New Englander here...but off the Pats bandwagon since midway through the 2007 season.

The penalty is a bit harsh, but mostly justified and not completely unexpected in my opinion.

Brady seemed to minimize the whole issue as being somewhat clownish.. ( over the weekend )

Wonder if the penalty will stick, is the fine on Mr. Kraft or Brady?

Just noticed if his 4 game suspension is upheld, he returns week 6 (week 4 bye) against none other than.....the Colts IN INDY, :laugh5:

Yup, apparently Brady would loose 2 million in pay for a upheld 4 game suspension.. Wonder if he's laughing now..

I first heard this from a buddy that is "close" to the NFL.  He usually is pretty good at knowing this stuff before anybody but he even told me, it was just rumor.

Personally, I thought the penalty would be more harsh but this is the NFL.  In the end I guess it is fair and sets the example.  I do find it funny that  Pats fans think there is a sting going on or some type of conspiracy.  >>Other teams have mentioned the balls, the colts mentioned their concerns before the game, there was an interception during the colts game that brought the balls to the officials attention, and when it comes down to it Kraft and his millions are tighter with the NFL than any other team.  So really, I don't get why anyone is complaining. Also, lets face it, the Pats have a great team and are well coached (some times too well). I don't think they deserve to have the Super Bowl stripped, records or games taken away, as other owners, media, fans and players suggested.  Lets move and play some football.

the suspension is somewhat in line with others really.  Don't PED users get a 4 game ban on the first offense so to me this is the same type of thing, trying to cheat to gain an advantage.

PED users can get up to 6 games for their first offense if they test positive, lie and then try to manipulate the results, 10 games for second offense, and 2 years for the third. > That's why I thought the penalty would be harsher.  This is not the first time the Patriots have been caught but it is the first for Tom Brady (sort of).

If anybody is interested, here is the short version of the league policy on substance abuse/drugs and PEDs .

As much as the patriots deserve this penalty as a whole, I have a feeling the suspension will either be overturned or shortened for Brady. I didn't take the time to read the incredibly long Wells report but from what i've gathered, and correct me if I'm wrong, there is nothing that outright says Brady did what he's being accused of...only that it is "more probable than not he was at least generally aware of what was going on."  and there were a lot of text messages between the 3. With how awful the NFL is at billing out the correct disciplinary action, it's really hard to see Brady not winning his appeal he just filed unless there's some concrete evidence we don't know about. Might be an interesting week

Tom Brady will appeal his four-game DeflateGate suspension.

"The discipline is ridiculous and has no legitimate basis," Brady's agent Don Yee said. "In my opinion, this outcome was pre-determined; there was no fairness in the Wells investigation whatsoever. There is no evidence that Tom directed footballs be set at pressures below the allowable limits. ... We will appeal, and if the hearing officer is completely independent and neutral, I am very confident the Wells Report will be exposed as an incredibly frail exercise in fact-finding and logic. The NFL has a well-documented history of making poor disciplinary decisions that often are overturned when truly independent and neutral judges or arbitrators preside." There's a pretty good chance Brady's suspension will be reduced.
