G Loomis has the GL2 rod for $200.00 It's there starter bass rod so there lowest priced bass rod.

Duckett has the White Ice and it's there best rod for $200.00 so it there highest priced rod..

Which rod is a better value considering the rods are the exact same length and weight rating?

Of course there are many rod we could do this comparison with so name away if you like,  tet for tat.

I'd take an EX6 over a GL2 every day of the week, and the EX6 over any Duckett 10 times out of 10.

Well, IMO it isn't a fair fight. That Duckett White Ice blows the GL2 clear out of the water. I have not fished with the EX6 yet but I do not see any way it can possibly be better than a White Ice, They compare to many rods that are far higher in price and at $200.00 I do not know of any rod that can match it. My vote would be for the Duckett White Ice.

The answer is easy. Neither one, because they both aren't $200 rods. This is just MY opinion, but having fished both rods my money would be spent on a different company. Take your pick.

So far the Gl2 isn't doing well. Maybe they're relying on the Brand to sell them.

I recently purchased 2 baitcasting rods and looked at:

Duckett White Ice

*** 13

GL2

St Croix Avid X

Daiwa Tatula

Liked them all mostly but my preference (and purchase) were:

White Ice

Avid X

I'd take the White Ice, I truely believe you have to go fairly high up Loomis lineup to get what you pay for. Although I've never used the new Loomis so my opinion could change. That being said I'd take several other rods before either you mentioned. Avid, Tatula etc......

Back in the good days the Blue GL2 was a fine rod for 150 bucks...nowdays i gotta agree 100% with rippin lips

Also the e6x loomis would get my vote over the current gl2

Contrary to what every single other person on this list is saying. I have a GL2, (never have tried a white ice), and I absolutely love it for spinnerbaits.
