Liberto Pixy Vs Ned Rig???

I'm considering splurging on a used Pixy if it will handle accurately casting a Ned Rig. (basically a 5" Senko cut in half on a 1/16oz mushroom jig head) Right now, I'm using a BPS Mightly Lite reel with 4# line casting 1/16oz and 1/8oz beetlespins and small trout spoons. Would the Pixy work well, or should I give up on the idea and go spinning. (really want to stay away from spinning...line twist, etc.)

Line management on spinning tackle is way less work and expense than finesse casting imo. The actual Ned Rig, I don't believe uses the heavy salted worms like the senko. I've experimented with the tail end of a trick worm and the results were good enough that I may look more into the specialized components.

Don't think it would be a problem at all. A half zinker with a 1/16 head weighs at least 1/4oz I would estimate. The compact shape makes it cast and skip really easily too. Spinning would be easier, but if you're a rabid spinning tackle hater it would be easy to use casting gear if you understand lighter weight baitcasting.

My pixy throws the ned rig just great.

Just remember the rod plays a large role in the picture. It needs to be able to load properly with light baits. The pixy will do its job though.
