WdyCrankbait Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Great video, Thanks for posting it! (golf clap) I would wonder if this was perfected to a bigger "TRD," (yes, turd joke implied) how it would do say flipped docks with a 3/8oz weight and a longer bait if a weed guard did not hinder the action enough. herbu Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Although this video and thread go back to May, I just recently saw it. Ordered the jigs and trds from TW. Went to BPS looking at new rods & reels for this and regular drop shots. When I mentioned the Ned Rig to the guy at BPS, he said there had really been a run on them lately. He commented somebody must have won a tournament with it, or featured it on a TV show. Said he could always tell when one of those things happened because of a sudden run on a particular bait or rig. I got my stuff because of this thread and video(s). Anybody aware of something more recent that could have spurred this activity at a BPS in NC? Quote

Anybody aware of something more recent that could have spurred this activity at a BPS in NC? It's been a pretty hot topic across the country really. It's just a very effective way to catch fish at certain times. It's not really a tournament bait for the most part, although it can be great to fill out a limit when it's tough. 1 Quote
BassThumb Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Nice video, Glenn. I've been away from BR for too long! Quote
Crowcommander Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Thanks Glen for the info.Very down to earth and straight forward. Please put some tan in a can on them legs.Looks like you've been in a flour barrel!! Quote
Molay1292 Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Really nice job on the video. The only thing I noticed was a comment about line selection. In particular FC line absorbing water. FC line does not absorb or hold water, perhaps you meant to say nylon mono filament. Great job introducing those that are new to the Ned. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted June 16, 2016 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted June 16, 2016 The whole water absorbing thing has been discussed ad nauseam already. I misspoke, and corrected numerously since. Old news. (this video was posted over a year ago) I'll take the chicken leg comment as a compliment. It's a testimony to my sunscreen, which I cover head to toe! Quote
pbrussell Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Ah yes, us mid westerners like us the ned rig. Had the opportunity to fish with Ned. Talk about a walking encyclopedia of bass knowledge. Good guy, good technique. Quote
GetBent Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Some Ned rig success. I didn't take pics of all the crappie. I had about 12. Quote
