hatrix Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I used Tatsu for the first time today. It was put on the reel at the end of summer and never used till today. It just sat in a closet forgoten about and you would never know it was on the reel since like September. It was absolutely flawless and the casting and sensitivity are excellent. The line was either 15 or 17# but it seems very thin although I use lots of thick lines like CXX. I didn't fish it a ton but but any other line except braid I would of no doubt had to take off but Tatsu seemed like I could fish it till I ran out of line. I was pretty impressed with it really. I don't know about $40 impressed cause it was free but it might be something I would consider after using it. Quote
John G Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I think it's great line but what sucks is when you hang up with a lot of line out and you end up losing a good amount of line because of it. For that reason alone, I am happy with Sunline Sniper FC. Quote
CRANKENSTIEN Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I haven't had a prob with cxx and longevity. You have to get it streched back out over a few cast. Quote

That is my #1 line and I agree it gets better after fishing it for a bit and L&L works wonders also of course but its not flouro. I have only dabbled with flouro a little bit and Tatsu was far superior. It just handled perfectly right off the reel and casts great. I really liked throwing glides on it and could tell a difference in them over CXX. Quote
hatrix Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 Tatsu is THE BOMB! I totally agree. I fished it again today for a little before it started to rain and I can with out a doubt say it is the finest line I have ever used. If I didnt get it for free I would of never tried it because of the price and thats a shame. Not to mention it was super windy today and the way it lays on the water was a big plus. I can get a massive curve in my line with launching big baits in the wind and the flouro was so much better. I am really considering switching some reels over to some other high end flouro. Quote
WPCfishing Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 I decided to stick with P-Line Floroclear, CX. I may try the Flouro. I had a very bad experience with two lines from Seaguar. Glad you guys are doing better than I did,. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted May 4, 2015 Super User Posted May 4, 2015 I have been using 10lb since the beginning of the year and I love it. It is the best line I have ever used. Is it worth the cost?> No. I will probably stay with Invizx. If I can find it on sale again at Tackle Warehouse, I will definitely buy it again. As far as a review> great knot strength, casts like a dream, and it is super sensitive. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted May 4, 2015 Super User Posted May 4, 2015 I just ordered some 10 pound Tatsu for deep cranking. Hopefully it holds up to cranking the deep rip rap well. I filled my new Curado I that it's destined for halfway with 10 pound mono so I can get four spool ups with one spool instead of two. Quote

Do you want to buy about 600 yards of 12#? $25.00 paypal free shipping. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted May 4, 2015 Super User Posted May 4, 2015 Really, I had nothing but problems with Invisx. Do you want to buy about 600 yards of 12#? $25.00 paypal free shipping. No thanks. There was a bad round of it a few years ago. I had a bad spool of it and exchanged it at Gander Mountain (where I purchased it). Ever since, I have never had an issue. From what I heard, they had a problem with their "Level Wind Technology". I can't confirm that though but it made sense to me. The bad line I had just seemed to tangle up in twists. No line conditioner would fix it. What issues are you having? How do you put it on? And what reel are you using? Probably don't want to hijack a thread on Tatsu but I thought I would ask...... Quote
WPCfishing Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 This stuff just breaks... It's pure garbage and so is Seaguar. Bought it from Amazon in January. Just started using it for obvious reasons. Amazon wouldn't take it back because I was past 30 days. Seaguar said it was my fault in a response email. I was seriously considering buying Tatsu.. No more.. Seaguar can stick it! They lost a good customer. Quote
WPCfishing Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I use Lews casting reels. I've been fishing since I was a kid. Did the NE BASS circuit in the 80s and early 90s. I'm no rookie. Seaguar Sucks and that's that. Quote
WPCfishing Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I hope for the money you guys are paying for Tatsu it's all it supposed to be. Quote

I personally think its worth investing in premium lines. It really enhances the overall feel of fishing, and they tend to last fairly long. Quote

hatrix Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 My only issue might be if I did happen to get a backlash and it got kinked in the spool somewhere and having my line break there later. That would be a problem for me but I think maybe I heard Tatsu can handle that. My very first cast with it after sitting on a reel unused for like 8 months started to spring up but nothing major. After it hit the water one tkne it all changed and it is perfect. Quote

Seaguar Sucks and that's that. Sorry you feel that way. I was out on the water Sunday from 6am till 8pm in my inflatable pontoon boat. With this water craft I can only take one set up. I took a Shimano Core on a G. Loomis 783 GLX. This set up has had 12lb Invisx on it since last August and I fish it about 2 times a week. So I used this old Invisx for about 12-13 hours over stumps, rocks and open water. I used the same hook and never retied. I caught about 20 large mouth (nothing bigger than 2-3lbs though, mostly small ones) and about 10 crappie. Will I need to change it,? Sure>someday. I have been fishing for over 30 years. I never took line or gear seriously until about 10 years ago. I basically stuck with trilene for a long time. I don't think Seaguar lines are the miracle, best, supper dupery, line of all time. There a lot of great lines out there. Seaguar has been pretty consistent for me. I also like Trilene 100% FC and Yo Zuri Hybrid. Quote
WPCfishing Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 So what line brand or brands do you use?I'm using P-Line Floroclear and I just ordered a spool of CX. It casts well and has a connected feel to my baits. Hooks sets are solid, not much stretch. The Invisx casts very well and has great feel for what's happening with my baits. But it does break and that's unacceptable. Maybe Amazon was selling old stock or bad spools they bought at a deal. To top it off the company response to my request for an exchange was: No, It's your fault. Here is the email they sent me. Thank you for contacting Seaguar.com I would suggest exchanging with Amazon because you purchased it from them. The only explanation for that could be using to heavy of lure for 12lb line or if you backlashed it creating a weak spot in the line. ***First they tell me to exchange it with Amazon ? ***Then they tell me I must have back lashed it and caused a weak spot? ***So if Amazon replaces it that's fine with them because there's a problem. ***Then they put the blame on me so they don't have to replace it. Sincerely, Seaguar Customer Support When this line would break I was throwing 3/8oz jigs, 1/2oz spinner baits. The Rod weight ratings were 1/4-3/4 and 3/8-1oz. No back lashes occurred. Twice it broke after less than a dozen casts immediately following a re-spool. The breaks were between the bait and Rod tip while in mid air. It's absurd. Quote
einscodek Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Tatsu is the only fluoro I'll use.. of course I only use it for leader (25lb).. if I had to use it for a mainline.. it could get expensive. It doesnt break off as much as the other fluoros I've tried but it does break off occaisionally.. but I whip my lures pretty hard and fast. Quote
