Josh. Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Hey everyone, I am hitting up a lake tomorrow with the water temp in the low 60s. a big cold front has hit in the past week and I was wondering what baits would give the best chance of getting the bass to bite? Thanks! Quote
ColdSVT Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Id have a jerkbait, jig, and a lipless crank on deck probably a spinnerbait or chatterbait too Quote
LuckyGia Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I keep 4 rods on deck all with a different type of lure. Deep crankbait, shallow crankbait, Lizard with 1/4oz weight, spinnerbait. I am usually ready for any condition with those 4 baits. Quote
papajoe222 Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 If it's been a few days since the cold front things should be stabilizied. Check the weather report and unless the barometer is still high, the fish should have moved back up shallow. At the very least they should be getting more active. I'd start with whatever pre-spawn baits you had success with in their staging areas and move shallow from there. They'll be spooked easily, so long casts and stealth are going to be priorities. I would stick with slower moving presentations unless they are taking your offerings aggressively. Quote
