After my Daiwa T3 Ballistic's drag broke after my first outing with it I'm looking for a replacement. I'm trying to decide whether I want a Shimano Curado I, Lew's BB-1, or an Abu Garcia Revo SX. I'm not completely set on getting one of those 3 so please bring up any other suggestions. I plan to use it for Jig'n'Worm. My price limit would be around 200ish.

Curado I. I have one and it's one of the best reels in that price range.

First, welcome to the forums.

I'd second the Curado I, but I'd

also recommend the Chronarch 50e

which lists at $200, but can be had

for less.

Do you want a right or left hand reel?

If you sign on for the news letter you get a $25.00 discount certificate. deduct $25.00 from any of the reels you see on the website.

I bought a Super Duty and a Tournament Pro. They arrived today. Awesome!

The Super Duty is a kick Butt reel..

Check Gander mtn, they had their remaining stock listed at $159. It's my understanding that the Chronarch E series is discontinued.

On another note, I just picked up a NIB Quantum Smoke for 105 very nice reel. Also there are many Quantum Energies available for sub $100 NIB. Fleabay

I've heard the 50e series is sticking around.

Just checked GM, only the 200e is $159, the

50e was still listed at $199.

Maybe Bantam1 could tell us what's up.

The one next to the Super Duty is a brand new Tournament Pro. They shipped together. Will use them both tomorrow for the first time!

I'm not a Shimano guy but here's a link to what appears to be a good deal. If you sign on there email list you get another $25.00 off.

Just got off the phone with Jacob with ALF and he says the $25.00 credit can't be used on an item that is on sale. That sucks! I was looking forward to getting a Curado HG for $115.00.

Lews Tournament Pro, can be had on the auction site for less than $150, or the new Tournament MB, can be found for around $115.

I signed on for the discount, it was emailed to me. Then I went in the site and entered it at checkout.

It worked fine for me. Send tashby@americanlegacyfishing.com

an email. Tell him what happened. He'll should be able to help you out.

John, I emailed Tom Ashby to let him know

what had happened. He's the owner. Great guy to deal with. Send him the email.

Can you tell me what you mean by the "drag broke?"  It may be something you can fix.  I used to have a t3 ballistic and really liked it, especially the 3d brakes.  I put a 1016 spool in it and it turned into an absolute casting/pitching machine.

I mean when I have a fish on it can take as much drag as it wants, and is nearly impossible to reel in. If it's an easy fix please let me know!
